I documented UNH's struggles as a program going back almost a
century. Even taking all that into account, it would be
difficult to find a worse year than the one they're having.
I wonder how long of a leash Herrion has at UNH. If you're the
AD, wouldn't you at least want to try something new? Bring in a
P5 school's young assistant in an attempt to jumpstart the
program? Herrion's contract runs through the 2019-20 season, and
he has a base salary of $185,000, which puts him up near the
deans and president of the university. I understand that he's
fighting with one hand behind his back, but still, at some point
one's record has to mean something.
No matter what angle you look at this game from, it's hard to
fathom us dropping this one. UNH reeeeallyyy struggles in all
aspects of the game offensively, shooting a dismal 37.6% from
the field. That's good for third worst in the country, ahead of
only stalwarts Mississippi Valley State and Delaware State
(seven wins combined). They're fourth worst on twos at 39.6%.
That's eight points worse than us, and we're ranked 278th.
It doesn't help UNH's cause that they may be without Martinez
and Jordan, each of whom has missed the last few games. I
couldn't find anything on these injuries in local media or
Twitter. These guys aren't snipers or anything, but they've
shown at least some ability to put the ball in the hoop. This is
a team that's gone over 60 points just three times in
conference, including some lowly 39- and 42-point efforts to go
with two 44s. They have one Division I win this year, an
admittedly respectable triumph over Lowell a month ago. They
enter the day on a nine-game losing streak, and I have to think
it'll be 10 by the time it's over.
Aside from just getting the W, let's hope that everything is all
right with Otchere after he was moving around awkwardly for a
bit against Lowell and ended up sitting. He's had a block in 17
consecutive games, and has a chance at the school record. Warney
blocked at least one shot in the final 25 games of the 2014-15
season. Otchere is 35 back of Warney's single-season record of
99, with at least seven more games to play – long way to go.
He's swatted "only" 19 in the last seven.
UNH should defend OK, so I don't expect fireworks from our
offense, but it would be nice to go up and set the tone early.
For a team that's talked about all these road wins this year, it
certainly hasn't been emphatic in conference, aside from the
recent victory at Binghamton. We nipped Maine, nipped Albany,
struggled at Lowell and looked horrendous at UMBC. I don't think
it's too crazy to ask for some style points this weekend.

UNH is a team that's number 352 of 353 division 1 teams in the
RPI. Despite this being a road game, if we can't win this one,
we might as well shut the whole season down and move on.
Expect a big game from our starters and for us to get the bench
thoroughly involved. I'd love to finally see McKenzie go for
more than 3 points in a game tomorrow.

The official line is SBU -14.5.
UMBC is only a four point favorite at home over Lowell. I’d love
to see the Riverhawks steal that one.

I'll add to that - would love the senior squad at Hartford win
       one at home against UVM.

The line is down to 12 and 12.5. I feel like the opening line is
       always a couple points off.

In comparison, the unh/uvm line the other night was -23.5. But,
       the game was at uvm.

What a disgusting first half. How many lay-ups did we miss? 8?
       10?

WE continue to struggle and could drop this one to the worst
       team in Div 1
