Talk about escaping with a win! Wow.
Gotta say, what a second half rally from our guys. This Maine
team isn't bad at all and Maine is a tough place to play at in
pretty much every sport.

It never is easy, is it? Today though, very GW-esque, averting a
disastrous loss. Insertion of Moor, imo, was the turning point
to comeback. Cornish played real well, as did big Jeff. Why did
Boals sit Otchere in the final minutes (only had 4 fouls). 16-3.
Not too shabby.

The NCAA needs to re-tool these refs. They’ve made playing good
defense a dirty word.

Went to the women's game so only saw the final couple minutes –
monitored the heck out of it of course. We pulled another rabbit
out of a hat again. Yes, a nice win, but we can't have these
lulls against quality teams. It's funny what the prospect of an
upset does to the team with the lead.
When I put the preview together, I initially wrote that Maine's
one of those places I worry about playing at ... but looked back
and saw that last year's nailbiter was an outlier. We rolled up
there quite often. But it turns out my uneasiness was warranted.
A second straight 64-61 win.
Vermont meanwhile demolished Binghamton. They've left little
doubt in their conference wins: 29, 24, 19, 14 and 28. We've won
three of our four by double digits, but with far less emphasis.
6, 8 and 10 from Cornish. How about that line? When was the last
time we had somebody dish out 10 assists? Hint: it wasn't
Woodhouse, Puriefoy or Brenton.
Still no Ochefu. It seems it's on merit.
Horrible loss for UA down at UMBC.

I do wonder how we're going to hang with Vermont if we struggle
to beat teams like Maine though. Vermont has been rolling
conference opponents by 20+ points every contest thus far.

Barely beating Maine pretty much debunks the whole RPI ratings
system (SBU around #50) and explains why it’s not being used.

I guess Boals is stil looking for the memo that Christie is the
next Bill Walton! After his all-star performance of 2 points
against Binghamton, Christie has played less than a minute
combined against two powerhouses in New Hampshire and Maine.
Also, McKenzie continuing with his mediocre play with no points
and no assists against Maine.
Hopefully, next season we don’t waste two full-scholarships on
these two players who should be walk-ons at this level.

If Christie is barely playing, where's Ochefu? We have to have a
big man who can step in when Jeff gets into foul trouble. Depth
at that position is my only real concern with this program long
term. That and finding whoever will step up to replace Cornish
next year.
