Never really any doubt. UNH just doesn't have the firepower to
stay with us even on an off shooting night.
You just have to love the effort this team puts it on the glass
and the defensive end. We overwhelmed UNH in that second half
with hustle and in-your face defense.
Hopkins and Reed, UNH's two scorers, combined for FIVE points.
Our guys really care about that side of the ball, and we have
the athletes to switch on everything. UNH won some 50/50 balls
in the first half, but not the second. Cornish, Latimer, Olaniyi
and Garcia were after every loose ball.
That's two straight poor shooting nights for Akwasi. We have
guys who can pick him up, but we're gonna need him in a couple
weeks for UVM and down the stretch.
Ochefu looked like he was going to be a DNP-CD for a second
straight game. He entered with two minutes left and immediately
was whistled for a charge, and he had another turnover before it
was over.
I like the kid Maultsby for UNH. He's the only player who made
an impression whatsoever. He should play 35 minutes a night for
them going forward.

Given that it was a Saturday night, in the middle of winter
break, at a "commuter" school, against the worst team in
division 1, I'd say 2800 is a fantastic turnout. It looked like
a decent crowd on the stream too. I'm happy with that number.

It was amazing how much better the team played, especially the
start of the 2nd half without McKenzie on the floor with his
plodding style of bringing up the ball. This coming from
someone who actually played the position.
I guess Coach didn’t receive the memo that Christie is the
second coming of Bill Walton by only giving Christie 1 minute of
playing time and that’s even with our starting center in foul
trouble.

I think chrisite not playing says more about UNH than it does
about Christie. UNH plays small and everyone is willing to put
up threes. Just not a great matchup for Christie who isn't ready
to take advantage of his height on the offensive end. Instead we
spent most of the game going small with Garcia at the 5. One
really fun thing about this team is their depth and how they're
able to competently play with a lot of different looks.

Excellent point. No Christie, no Chef last night. Boals is
really maturing as a Coach in Year 3. This is clearly his team
now.
