Really gotta love the depth on this team. Any of 5 or 6 players
can lead the team in scoring on any given night. 12-3 OOC. The
future is bright heading into conference play.

I don't like seeing Latimer limping like that, but holy crap
what a win!!! Best of all, Garcia was perfect from the floor.
When was the last time a player did that? Let alone go over 20
points in doing so??
Get everyone healthy and this team is going places. This is a
great OOC win over a good program from a good conference.
Awesome!!

IBO, Josh Caray may be correct. The good news though is that
Molloy has offered us a home-and-home for next season 😊

I think this is overblown. First of all, I don't expect anyone
of note to come to our place, no matter the year. On top of
that, if you look back on our history, we managed to schedule
quality opponents in Pikiell's heyday when it was very apparent
that our team was a threat.
2014-15 high expectations Georgia, Cincinnati, Providence,
Washington, two teams 200+ RPI (per KenPom) and two sub D-Is
2015-16 high expectations Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, three
teams 200+ RPI and two sub D-Is
2016-17 low expectations BC, Maryland, Rutgers, six teams
200+ RPI
2017-18 modest expectations Maryland, UConn, Michigan State,
Providence, five teams 200+ RPI and one sub D-I
2018-19 modest expectations South Carolina, a couple A-10s,
eight teams 200+ RPI and one sub D-I
I mean, is there that much difference here? Vermont manages to
schedule quality games every year, don't they?

Yeah, but big difference is that were 7-2 on the road. Vermont
has played some bigger programs than us and have held their own,
but they rarely, if ever, win these games.

Haha, I can see this breaking both ways. MBB isn't like
football. If you're in a power conference, you want to schedule
tough teams as it boosts your chances for an at-large bid. Just
look at all the top 10 OOC games this year. Gonzaga vs Duke,
Duke vs Texas Tech, Kansas vs Tennessee, Gonzaga vs UNC, plus
tons of others. If a team schedules us next year with what we
have coming back, we certainly won't be a 200+ RPI cellar
dweller which lowers the ranking of other teams. Depending on
how the rest of this year goes, I wouldn't be at all surprised
if we're a top 100 team next year. Schools want games like that.
Scheduling shouldn't be too bad. Yeah home games will be tough
to come by, but that's nothing new.
Last year's OOC schedule was perfect, but we didn't have the
team to compete against it. Next year we should really load up
on some tough games as we'll have the roster and experience to
really do some damage. This team would have handled the Ball
St., Uconn, and Providence games with ease, and have given
Michigan State a real scare. I'm confident SH can put together a
great schedule for next year if he really puts in the effort to
do so. I wonder if St. Johns, Seton Hall, or Georgetown would be
down for a game? I'd love to pick up a Big East victory.

Totally agree with you. Do you really think Kentucky, Kansas
wants to play a team with an RPI of 300+? I dont. In FBS
football, it's harder to fill a 12 team schedule so hence the
FBS FCS games. In basketball, it's all about RPI and SOS for
that auto bid, as you alluded to.
Even though this SB team looks poised to win the AE conference,
I still have a hard time believing we can beat Lamb, AKA,
Vermont, in the Championship game. This kid is just balling
again this year and is a one man wrecking machine for. Stop Lamb
and we beat Vermont.
