Beer Garden Concession at the Stadium

I was at the SBU v Bryant football game and thought the
innovation of selling beer in the end zone 'beer garden' worked
out well. I am not going to whine about the cost per beverage
because I think the very professional staff did a very good job
in checking ID's (essentially, everyone presents an ID to enter
the general public beer garden area no matter age) and keeping
things very low key.
I'm sure the staff gave consideration to the idea of allowing
spectator purchase at the regular concession and permitting
drinking in the stadium seats but the current method precludes
many other issues.
Another initiative this year was to prohibit exit and reentry
to the stadium during the games (had no problem with that
either) and having a cold adult beverage available (within full
view of the game) seemed to help in that regard.
Kudos on the 'beer garden' initiate and kudos to the staff on
the implementation.

I haven't been to the stadium to see if, but if they're finally
serving beer at the games, it's a step in the right direction.
Between that, the new concession stand, the IPF, new turf, etc.
we're well on our way in the right direction.

I have no issues with the beer garden as well. Picking Blue
Point to be there supplier of beer was a mistake, but whatever.
They might want to consider selling wine for the ladies.
I talked to Rob Emmerich and Shawn Heilbron about the new policy
changes on Saturday and he said Blue Point is selling their Beer
for free to SB and SB charges $7 per can. 100% profit for SB.
SB can't lose, right?
As far as it being a huge success, as per SH Tweet, I don't
think so. I only saw a handful of people in that little triangle
area before the game started, and a few more people during the
game. So, I don't think they made a ton of money as they are
proclaiming. One thing I do know is. A lot and I mean a lot of
people are pissed they can't go back out to the parking lot at
halftime.
In my tailgating group, we have 18 season ticket holders and 5
young teenage kids. In the past, these kids would go out at
halftime to throw the ball around, or just hang out behind our
tailgate vehicles and eat food, snacks, drink or whatever. Now
they are bored as hell and run around inside the stadium,
looking for something to do. Us parents would get up to stretch,
and go out and have a cold beverage, eat, BS about the game and
go back in at the start of the third period. Now we no longer
can do this. and trust me, we aren't the only large tailgaters
who are chirping about this..
I know you guys dont care if i go to the games or not, but if SB
loses a bunch of fans because of their to re entry policy, they
will feel it in lost revenues next season. I hope they sell a
lot of disgusting Blue Point beer to make up for lost
revenues....
