I thought it was premature to start a 2024 thread, but we should
lock this kid up now. He’s a 7’ 12 year old:

So, I'm hoping one of you well-connected geniuses from this
board can help me understand something. As I see it, there will
be no (count them-NONE) seniors on this year's team.
Nevertheless, according to VerbalCommits.com, the Seawolves have
no less than 37 offers active for the 2020 recruiting
system--the latest of which was as recent as YESTERDAY! My
       question is WHY???
I understand that many of these offers go back to before Yeboah
decided to leave, but even had he stayed there would have been
only a single senior on the team, and many of the offers were
not even for Akwasi's position. So can any of you clue me in as
to why we are still offering additional recruits?

Answer is simple. With transfers (grad and others) at an
all-time high, teams need to protect themselves. Also, from what
I understand, schollys offered are not a guarantee for 4 years.
Hence, guys that are not living up to expectations, can
effectively be “cut” during their college tenure.
Specifically, we run the risk of losing Garcia to grad transfer
next year (a la Yeboah), and not sure if Foreman, who had to sit
1 year prior to transferring to SBU, can or will consider grad
transfer next year. Also, did anyone think Long or Moor would
be transferring this year? Both would have seen decent minutes
       this upcoming year.
Bottom line, better to stay active with recruiting, rather than
remaining dormant, and caught with your pants down.

At some point you have to ask yourself why everybody is heading
for the exits and wanting to leave the program. That will need
to be addressed. There's more to it than just the coach leaving.
I can't blame a kid too much for taking a grad transfer shot at
a P5 school after getting his degree at SBU, but when you've got
kids leaving to play for D2 schools, something is clearly wrong.

I really don't think we have a transfer % any higher than any
other school. This grad transfer thing has become an epidemic
of sorts, and the other kids want the immediate gratification.
My guess is that Long made up his mind to leave during (not
after) his sophomore campaign, when he saw he was getting scant
minutes - he probably said I'd rather play all the time at D2,
than watch every one else play at the D1 level. Moor, on the
other hand, went back to his home state (Texas) to play. Maybe
he was homesick or maybe he's got a girlfriend back home. I did
detect a little bit of a Moor attitude toward Ford during one of
the timeouts during the game at SF, but that could have been my
       misinterpretation of body language.

I have the same concerns. This team is in a complete rebuilding
mode once again. This year is going to be a disaster,
trainwreck. Possibly finishing in somewhere in the middle of the
pack this year.4th to 6th place..

Hammer, we have a major core coming back. Assuming we stay
healthy, and with the addition of some talent, we should
challenge for the top spot. Fail to see your negative outlook.

i will say- last nov was amazing. completely outpaced most
people's expectations. then a few blips, strong finish,
       terrible ending.
so whatever that means... i dont know. GO SB

That is how I see it this season. Young, inexperienced team. It
will take a couple of years before they get their act together.
To be expected for a rebuilding team with a brand new coach and
       players.
