Slim to none. Their loss to Hartford at home probably hurt
them, along with this loss. Maybe if every # 1 conference
holds service today and tomorrow there would be a very outside
chance.
EDIT: Vermont's RPI was 51 coming into game. KenPom dropped
them to 71, following this loss to UMBC. NIT-bound.

A cupcake schedule, no quality wins, bad loss to Hartford. Zero
chance.

Good to see UMBC win the Tourney. Vermont is off NIT land .
Next year its our turn .

Vermont looked past UMBC and saw maybe a 12 or 3 seed . The
Retrievers caught them napping . Hey how about Becker to UConn
? Interesting job for someone that program needs a lot of
work now.

I think UMBC was a much more athletic and quicker team, and I
was surprised that Vermont didn't pound the ball into their bigs
more. The last 4-5 minutes, UVM just got real tight with no one
seeming to want to take a shot. Up 9 with 9 to play at home, no
way you should lose that game, with all those Seniors. And not
attacking Maura with 4 fouls was just plain stupid. Having him
foul out would have been a huge psychological blow to UMBC.
Lyles put the team on his back all game, and his final shot was
amazing.
With Becker losing his core, you can bet he'll be gone. UConn
would be a double step up for him, but I see his name is on the
short list.

UVM is losing a lot of really good players- I know Lamb will be
healthy but they will be a really different team without Henson,
Urquhart, and most importantly TBH. Cam Ward would always kill
us too. If I was Becker, I'd leave this year- I don't think
he'll be a serious candidate for the UConn job but he could get
a high mid-major job a la Lonergan.

It's nice to see Vermont feel the pain after we've gotten
screwed in the AE championship game so many years. I still
remember that 2015 game vividly.
That said, I also wish the committee would give good mid majors
some respect for at-large bids rather than giving the 12th place
team in the ACC a bid, but it is what it is. Hopefully we can
get it next year. We really hit our stride towards the end of
the year.

I'm hoping next year will be our year to return to a 20 game
winning season . A lot is riding on our recruits coming in and a
couple veterans returning as sophomores and juniors.
