Can we reach that high on Saturday, come all the way back down,
and then bring it all the way back up again in a few days?
       That's the question.
We had reason to celebrate yesterday – just a fantastic
all-around team effort. Everybody contributed in some way, and
we beat a team that's had our number over the years. Before the
tournament started, I think any of us would have signed up for
quarterfinal win only to be ousted in the semis. Well ... are we
satisfied? Or do we have it in us to fell the giant on Tuesday?
Vermont has all the boxes checked – size, shooting, experience,
leadership, etc. And they only got better with Lamb returning
from a broken foot on Saturday. He had seven points and three
rebounds in 11 minutes against Maine. Eight shots and five free
throw attempts in 11 minutes; he's raring to go. If he recovers
well from putting the foot to use, I'd imagine we could see him
get into the high teens or 20s, stealing a few minutes from
Henson, Urquhart and Duncan. We got murdered on the glass the
last time out, and I can't imagine Lamb will do us any good in
       that regard.
If I recall, we saw a lot of Olaniyi on TBH in the second half
of our game here. TBH had 13 and 3 with 1 turnover in the first
       half; 6, 2 and 3 with 4 turnovers in the second. I can't
remember if UC had that assignment early or not. Either way, I
like that matchup, with McKenzie chasing around Duncan. But when
you put it like that, we're talking about two freshmen going up
against a senior two-time POY and a redshirt junior. As much as
I love our guys, edge goes to Vermont.
I keep waiting for Sekunda to give us a double-digit night. He
hasn't had one in conference all year, and has averaged 2.3 ppg
in his last 10. I wonder if it's the hand. Maybe one more? For
       old time's sake?
If we win, we will have beaten the top four seeds in the
conference in their own gym. That would be something. If not
though, Vermont marches on. What do you think ... with the
coaching carousel already spinning, does Becker jump on a
       high-major job?
ESPN BPI gives us a 6.9% chance to win. That’s like 50 times the
odds on Buster Douglas! It’s fun to dream.

Goes without saying that as good as SBU was against UA (their
best all-around game so far this season?) they'll need to be
better, perhaps significantly better, to have a shot at UVM. If
there's a good sign for SBU it's that among the AE teams left
they are probably playing at their best right now vs the other
three that have been a bit up/down recently. Hey, SBU's got a
       25% chance to dance, yes?

Let's not forget that 2011 team that thrashed top-seeded Vermont
in the semis, although it wasn't at Patrick. Or how about that
2014 semifinal win at Patrick, where Thrower had his career game
for SBU. Hey, ya gotta believe!

I am dangerously confident heading into this game. Team of
destiny feeling. I just hope Hartford can upset UMBC so I don't
have to go down to Baltimore to see the championship. ;D

the other night our intensity was good. especially under the
rim. which plagued us all season.
hey who remembers- the first few weeks of the season when we
looked good against uconn, maryland, mich state- were we this
intense? i think no. this is a good sign. hoping lamb's
return ruins the green mountain mojo.

Vegas has the line at Vermont -12.5 across the board. Almost
went that high on the line myself; after all, they have double
       the wins that we do.

As of this moment, Palm and Lunardi have Vermont as a 13 seed
against 4th seeded Wichita State. I have them as a 3 seed in the
       NIT!

Have this hunch UVM will want to and try to come out of the gate
fast and furious, try to start things off with a "shock and awe"
approach, build a big lead, try to put this away in essence
       before the first TV timeout.
If SBU can hold that off, keep it close, and answer back with
"you are in for a long, ugly slog to the end" all the better.
