I think SB has a slight advantage ending the season early, with
a home game to boot. They will have a full week to rest and
       prepare for the first round.

At least get a win and stay alive until the second round.
Have to give our seniors a good send off tomorrow they wont play
       at home after Vermont.

OK, this is totally OT, but I didn't know where to put it:
  HTML https://sports.yahoo.com/exclusive-federal-documents-detail-sweeping-potential-ncaa-violations-involving-high-profile-players-schools-103338484.html
With all the possible sanctions coming down on big NCAA teams,
will this affect the upcoming Tournament, and if so, can SBU get
an at-large bid to this year's Tournament, based on the
attrition of teams that this bombshell report will affect? ???

We need at least 20 wins with significant wins against good
programs . Not even close at this point . This NCAA /Federal
deal wont even take effect for months remember these are premier
       programs and the NCAA .

Hey guys, that was a joke :D
In any event, looks like they're cracking down hard on NCAA
stuff. Maybe this will help level the playing field (maybe a
       tiny bit, anyway).

It's really interesting. North Carolina had a player on last
years national championship team mentioned on that list. It will
be very interesting to see what happens with all of this.

Yeah, probably not in the cards this year, but...the SBU AD did
promise those at-large bids were forthcoming. Not sure the
timeline, but have to assume, uh, soon? ???

I can’t see UVM burning a year. Should get a medical redshirt.

       From another board:
  HTML http://www.basketballforum.com/america-east-conference/677858-vermont-stony-brook-2-24-7pm.html
I would expect him to be back, if he is healthy enough to do so.
Maybe not tonight, but definitely by Wed (their last conf
game), and into the playoffs. VT is a senior-laden team, and if
they are going to win an NCAA tournament game, this is the year
for them to do it. I'm sure they want their big gun on the
floor, if he's healthy enough. Also, from a VT perspective,
they have lots of guys graduating this year, so I'm sure they
may view Lamb as a possible transfer risk, to a higher-echelon
program, so that too, may be impetus to put him back on the
       floor.
       Purely my speculation here.
