Never mind the record. This should be another very good test for
us. We have to prove that we're capable of winning these kinds
of games away from home. It doesn't feel like there will be any
gimmies this conference season, even going up to Maine,
       Hartford, Binghamton, etc.
We know a lot of these guys already, with Smith and Hickman
starting every game last season, and Adlesh and Meisner all
playing major minutes off the bench. Senior Kyle Castlin, who
missed all of last season with toe injury, played just one game
before succumbing to another injury (can't find the details on
it). Anyway, Columbia has a nice young nucleus and should be in
the mix in the Ivy despite the departure of East Northport's
Luke Petrasek, who was such a force for them and now plays for
Greensboro in the G League. CU was picked fifth in the preseason
       poll.
In terms of results, they're due to have the ball bounce their
way. They've lost six straight, but if there's such things are
quality losses, they have a few of them – UConn in overtime, a
four-point loss at Albany, a two-point loss to Quinnipiac in
their home opener yesterday, and they hung around with Villanova
and Penn State for a half.
It's going to be a tough test for our backcourt, particularly
with Smith, who can fill it up in a hurry and should be in
contention for all-Ivy honors at year's end. He dropped 27 on UA
and they nearly pulled the thing out. Adlesh is almost purely a
shooter – 46 of his 73 attempts have been from deep – but both
he and Meisner in particular shoot it at a good clip.
Like us, free throws are an Achilles heel, not only in that they
shoot them poorly, but they rarely get there. They average just
14 attempts a game, whereas we're up close to 20. What do you
       say we finally make some?!?
Yeboah has to stay out of foul trouble. He barely played last
night, and sat almost the whole first half against Bucknell.
We're a much better team with him on the floor.

I just get the feeling every game is going to be a challenge
until we establish some discipline . Turnovers and fouls added
to poor free throws is really hurting us,

Columbia is 9 for 15 from three at the half. That won’t
       continue. Still a game.
Meanwhile, Yeboah is 5 for 8 and the rest of the team is 4 for
       20.
Boals finally pulled the trigger at point guard and started
       Cornish. Fouls limited his production.

Good starting lineup tonight. Cornish has to slow down just a
little gain a little more control but he should be our starting
       PG.

Good win. Yeboah with 30 points and 11-11 from charity.

Unsightly win in front of a couple dozen people but a good one
       for morale.
Just a massive night from Yeboah. A couple huge threes by him
       and Iroegbu at the end.
Cornish had some maddening turnovers late but I guess you take
the bad with the good. He is lightning quick but it was so bad
that I wondered if Mac would get the minutes down the home
stretch just to break the press. It was ugly. 22 turnovers in
       all.
Elijah is going to be an excellent Seawolf. He always seems to
       be around the ball.
I’m surprised by how much Almonacy has been marginalized.
Great effort on the glass and on defense in the second half.

Hopefully, this means the era of McKenzie starting is
       permanently over!
He has a total of 0 points in the last three games versus three
horrible teams! Yes, a total of 0 points!
The confidence of McKenzie should improve coming off the bench
and playing against second stringers! I’m just glad Boals
       realizes McKenzie shouldn’t be starting.
We all agree, the entire needs to play smarter ball. The best
thing we’ve have going for us is that the America East is
       extremely weak.

I agree. McKenzie is extremely raw and is not ready to be SB
starting PG.. Cornish is the better option at this time, though
       turnovers plague him..
Why no Ochefu??? Boals gives McKenzie the benefit of the doubt
in every game by playing him but not "Chef"... This is bizarre.
How is he going to improve sitting on the bench??

I forgot to add. Why only 2 minutes of Almonacy??

I'll echo the sentiments of others:
Awesome game by Yeboah, who finally had a game delineating him
as the star and best player on the team. Cornish is extremely
talented, but seeing in last couple of games that he is
turnover-prone; he needs to slow the game down a bit at times,
because some of his TO's are foolish. Olaniyi is muy talented,
and needs to be on the floor; really like this kid. Not sure
why McKenzie is getting minutes over Almonacy; to me, that's a
real head scratcher: maybe Boals playing his recruit over
Pikiell's recruit? I dunno. 2nd half salvaged what could have
       been another bad loss.
