Great comeback kept everyone standing the last 2 minutes .
Cornish should be our point guard he is fearless anywhere on the
court . Yeboah is the team MVP so far he can dominate and take
charge . Win at LIU and Columbia we should be ok going into
       Conference play .

Cornish is really exciting. I thought he forced things at times,
but some of those plays he made were jaw dropping.
The team still has some things to figure out, but I think they
are going to be competing for a conference title come February

If I had to pick a starting 5 going into conference play it
would be Cornish , Olaniyi, Yeboah, Saintel and Sturdivant.
Secunda and UC off the bench as 6 and 7 . These guys can score
and score quickly . Need a big improvement in free throws but
other than that solid 7 man rotation .

I think Cornish is the man at point, but I think Olaniyi will be
coming off the bench as the energy guy, and will probably be in
there at the end of games. I would venture to say that UC will
be starting. I also think Petras deserves minutes; his hustle,
size, and enthusiasm warrant 8-10 minutes per night. I also
think Almonacy has shown some signs of brilliance and deserves
8-10+ minutes per night as well.
I think this will/should be a learning year for McKenzie, Long,
and Ochefu on the bench. The "Chef" is quite young and raw, and
although he has an upper-classman body, I can't see him playing
ahead of Petras, based on his appearances to date.

I agree with you on all fronts except with Petras.. He is a
senior and still plays like a Freshman and really is a clown on
the floor. He's a fan favorite because of his goofiness, just
saying.. I still would like to see "Chef" with more playing time
and I think he is only a step or two with breaking out of his
shell... He could be our other go to big guy. We just dont know
because of his very limited time on the floor.
Coach P gave Petras the benefit of the doubt as a freshman when
he stepped foot on campus and gave him a lot of playing time and
he was horrible to say the least, I do remember that.. I would
do the same with Chef. He needs time on that floor to get
comfortable.. I feel like Boals is not using him enough off the
bench... Of course, it is possible Boals knows something about
       Chef that we dont know?

Petras is fine. He gives his 100%. He knows his role and does
what he knows best. Can't expect him to score double double
every night. Then he wouldn't be playing in SBU, he would be in
A10. I don't understand why do you expect him to be a first team
AE type player. He is not Warney. He is a solid role player. I
like him for his passion and what he brings to the table. Coach
Pikiell knew that and Coach Boals knows that. That's why he got
minutes under the old coach and gets minutes under the new
       coach.
Chef will get his minutes when he earns them. If he works hard
and shows during the practice that he is ready to produce, then
he will get more minutes next game, otherwise down the season,
or even next season. We don't know but coach Boals surely knows.
Boals has not shied away from playing new players. No one is
blocking Chef from developing. I have high hope for Chef and I
am pretty sure that he will be a big contributor sooner than
later. But it is a misconception that Petras is blocking his
       development.

Look at his stats, IBOsbu. For a 6'11" big, his blocks,
rebounds, asst are atrocious. Listen, I sit as close to the
floor as you can at IFCU and watched virtually every game Petras
been in. His #'s are brutal, you cant deny that.. He constantly
gets out rebounded in every game by guards who are a foot
       smaller then him..
I am not saying petras is taking minutes away from Chief.. May
be coach Boals could experiment with Petras and Ochefu on the
floor at the same time for a few minutes to see if we can defend
that paint better. When we are constantly counting on our small
guards to make offensive and defensive rebounds, that's a
problem. That is why you have Centers in the game.. Feel free to
look at his stats for every game.....

I guess playing Stony Brook wasn’t good prep for playing Duke.
Duke scored 71 points in the first half on the way to a 124-67
win over St. Francis (PA). Ouch!
