I'm curious about this UConn team. I know that everybody says
the program is down and hurt by the conference they're in, but
they have a nice nucleus. Larrier had a huge night in his debut
after last year was cut short after four games with a torn ACL.
An incredible athlete, he was a four-star recruit for VCU way
back in the 2013 class – same year as Karl-Anthony Towns,
D'Angelo Russell, Melo Trimble – but left when Shaka Smart went
to Texas. Transfer year, redshirt year, and now he's back at it
(good for him). In addition to Larrier, the kid Gilbert, the
preseason AAC ROY, played just three games before dislocating
his shoulder; he's the preseason ROY again this year. And they
brought in a steadying force in Anderson, who started every game
last year at Fordham and averaged double-digit points.
UConn prevailed in its opener despite not having the services of
Jalen Adams, who was suspended indefinitely after crashing a
scooter earlier this week and leaving the scene. And then he was
suspended from practice for disorderly conduct. So I can't
imagine we'll see him either. It's significant because Adams was
a preseason all-conference first team selection after leading
the team in points and assists a year ago, and seems to be a
marginal NBA prospect. Take him out and factor in the
aforementioned injuries and it's almost an entirely new team on
       the floor.
They'll need to count on some freshmen early. Polley was their
most highly touted freshman, and had a nice showing in his
debut. They're working on a waiver for Sidney Wilson, another
four-star prospect who came to UConn after initially signing
with St. John's, going to class for a week, and leaving, making
       him a transfer.
Winnable game for us – we won't be the favorites but I think
we're in this one (and can watch it on SNY!). UConn's bigs are
scrawny compared to who we faced last night – Cekovsky 250, Obi
250, Fernando 245, Bender 230. The UConn youngsters are long and
lean, so I'm hoping we can lengthen possession and get some
putbacks inside. Colgate trailed by only two at halftime before
a 7-0 run to start the second half gave them some breathing
       room.
I'd love to find a real sparkplug off the bench offensively.
Sekunda can be that and had a decent shooting night from what I
recall. I'd love it if Olaniyi could add some offensive punch
but we haven't seen that in the exhibition or opener.

We looked good in the second half against Maryland. Hopefully we
can carry that over. I love playing big time regional programs
       like Uconn.

My two favorite programs facing off... my Fiancee is a UConn
grad so it's a big rivalry night for us. Lets go Seawolves!

We have a shot against the Huskies just cant start slow like
we did against Maryland. It is a winnable game .

Uconn isn't what they used to be, but they're still a very
strong team. I'd be shocked if we won, but that second half
against Maryland gave me some reason to be optimistic.

Not the right thread, but Vermont looked very good today against
Kentucky. They could have sent it into OT if they hit a three on
       their last possession.

This year is Vermont’s to lose. They will probably romp through
the regular season. But UVM still have to play 3 knockout games
in AE tourney. Will Brown has shown before that he is a really
good coach in AE tourney regardless of Albany’s seed. And with
one year under his belt, Boals will be ready to pounce. Can’t
       wait.

Anyone followed Rutgers game today? They didn’t looked
like a Big ten team at all. Although to be fair, Pikiell has had
only one year to lift them from the dumpster they were before he
took over. Of all the high major teams we play, I would say they
would probably give us the best opportunity to win.
