We went down to the game. I think the only injury that looks
serious is to 83. He had a sling around his shoulder and arm.
All in all good game for the boys but a few bonehead plays were
evident and it would Ave been closer
[/quote]
The fair catch on the 2 yard line and the safety fooling around
before the play that made 23-17 were not the smartest plays.
Oh well, the team definitely played much better than we thought,
but USF probably shouldn't be ranked.

Carbone has improved from last season, but that is not saying a
lot. 2 interceptions, 0 touchdowns, 5 sacks and 18 yards was
his longest completion and 137 total yards for the game is not
going to get you a win in any game. But, for Carbone this is
much improved.. If we only had a half decent QB, SB would have
won this game.. As usual SB defense is stout and could hold
their own and compete against any team in this country, FCS or
FBS outside of the power 5.. Not having Josh Valentine in the
game hurt out D line late in the game. I hope he is ok and ready
to come back for the season..
I am not a believer of switching back and forth between two QB,
but i wonder if Tyquell Fields should get a shot against Rhode
Island, which by the way is a different team this season and
took Central Michigan into 2 OT...Their R/JR QB, Tyler Harris
has a rocket of an arm and threw for 286 yards and 3
touchdowns..See what a decent QB can do to a bad team
overall????
With some tweaking on Offense this team can do better than we
all thought this season, yes, including me...

The Seawolves D left everything on the field and I couldn't have
been more proud, Lawless was awesome! The secondary seemed to be
everywhere they needed to be and the D line pressured Flowers.
Coach Priore had the Defense well prepared and had a great game
plan slowing down Flowers and their high powered offense.
Carbone seems to be a good leader and did everything he could
but he should not be a starting QB in this conference. I have
been a season ticket holder for 4 years and he has shown little
improvement and its time to give someone else a chance. He had 2
easy interceptions dropped and unless it was a 6 yard cross he
cannot throw an accurate ball. The offensive play calling in the
first half was exactly what a normal offense does, throwing to
TE, QB option runs, and even a pass to a RB. For years these
basic plays have been missing from the playbook and offense was
clicking in spite of not being able to complete anything in the
air over 10 yards!! Keep it up!! The RB rotation needs to end,
Bedell needs the ball, 15-20 times a game minimum! I literally
called that he was gonna break one, he always does when he gets
a feel for the game. After the 50 yard run, Coach goes to the
other backs, little mind boggling to be honest. The Punt block
was a great play and special teams had its ups and downs but the
bottom line is Alston is our best punt and kick returner and why
he wasn't in the game receiving the ball is another head
scratcher. The senior is so explosive and for whatever reason
the coaches don't get him involved more. Watch the sidelines
during a game, he is the one pacing the sidelines, seems to have
a lot of heart. In all its going to be a fun season, we
definitely need to give Fields the ball. As for the coach, he is
a great defensive coach but is horrible with the offense and its
time for him to move on to that roll some where else.

We will have our hands full with Rhode Island. That is a must
win for us to stay in playoff contention . We need 7 wins in
the next 10 games to have a shot and Rhode Island has gotten
better as has Delaware.

True, but i actually watched this game and a couple of the
interceptions was not on him.. Carbone should have had a lot
more than 2 interceptions. The Bulls defenders dropped a few of
Carbone bad throws

USF is the 19th ranked team in the country and picked to win the
AAC. On paper this was the best team Stony Brook has ever played
by a lot. Their D line dominated our offensive line throughout
the game. Lets see how we stack up against our peers before we
start calling for personnel changes.
Also I watched a couple scrimmages and thought that Carbone was
clearly the best option at QB FWIW.

The team showed a lot of guts and played their butts off! South
Florida might be overrated but they do have a lot of talent (the
most we will see all year). I'm looking forward to the rest of
the season.

Couldn't agree more about your points on Bedell and Alston!
