easier to win the AE at Stony Brook than the MAC at Ohio. I
would hope Boals or any Stony Brook coach would stay put until
they get Power 5, A10 or AAC offers.

Agree, but $ talks. Not sure how much extra SBU will poney up
to keep Boals, especially after the highly visible Bing loss.
Lots of issues at play here; hope we can keep him around a few
       more years.

If Matta wants the job, he would be difficult to turn down. If
not, it would be difficult for Boals to turn down that money and
opportunity. In addition to the salary, it's just so much
cheaper to live out there. As far as on the court, the MAC
routinely ranks as a top 10 conference in the country, whereas
the America East is routinely in the bottom 10.
Whereas the last wave on this thread probably wasn't realistic,
I think this very much is.
       Bobcat forum is interesting.

I knew this day would come one day. I just expected it to be for
a program like Dayton, Xavier, Cinci, etc rather than Ohio. Does
Boals really make half of what he'd make at Ohio?? I'd think we
could afford to pay a little more than that for a coach.
Especially given our goals as an athletic department. Boals is
worth keeping around. Anyone calling for his head is crazy.

His base is $375k. If you assume that he’ll get what OU’s
current guy is getting ($550k), you’re talking about a 45%
increase, and that’s before any cost of living is taken into
       acct. We’ll see what happens.

Give Boals what he wants. He's a keeper and letting him go for
more money would be a huge blow to this BB team. Other people
       feel the same way.

Washington State axed Ernie Kent, which could conceivably be a
landing spot for Boals because their new AD, Patrick Chun, was
at Ohio State for much of Boals' tenure. This one feels like a
little more of a longshot but maybe?
It's not surprising either that Maurice Joseph got canned by GW.

The team had 3 big games at home in Vermont, Albany (rival), and
the first round conference playoff game, which they lost all
three and two of them if not all three were absolutely
       embarrassing!
I have no need for a coach of that team.

That same coach also led us to road wins over South Carolina,
Rhode Island (who could win the A10), George Washington,
Northern Iowa (without our best player btw), and 13 true road
wins overall which is most in the country. I don't know about
you, but I'm all in on trying to keep Boals. Our big weakness
       this year was ball movement.

George Washington (fired their coach) game meant nothing, plus
they lost to Holy Cross, worst record in the Patriot Conference!
It’s all about the conference playoffs and he failed miserably!
Our biggest weakness was ball movement because the coach would
rather be friends with his players than coach his players.
