Per NYC bucket tracker SB is a potential CBI team.
  HTML http://www.nycbuckets.com/cbicit-tracking/
I don't know which is better CBI or CIT. And I don't know if
playing in CBI or CIT will benefit anyway, except some more
basketball to get excited about perhaps. May be we can make a
       run.
And then there's this cryptic tweet from AD

Good find on the NYCBuckets post, IBO. The way the department's
gotten out in front of it and done so with all this positivity
gives me the impression that we're hosting a game next week.
From that list, LIU, St. Peter's and Fairfield all make sense.
       Here's the NIT bracketology:

       I love that
       they do this.

The CIT has 32 teams, all mid-majors, and all have to have
season records over .500. Normal single-elim tournament, NIT
       style.
The CBI has 16 teams. but no restriction on being over .500.
So, in theory, they can get bigger program schools that have had
sub-par season.s Also, the final is a best-2-of-3, which is
       pretty cool.
As to which is more prestigious, I guess it's up to your own
       interpretation based on the above.

Any update on the CBI? Any chance Checkmate will be writing
       another preview this season?

Well, the NIT and CIT brackets are out, so it's down to the CBI.
Albany and UMBC both host games in the CIT. In other news, the
CBI website's been down for about an hour.

Yup, UIC. Finished 6th in Horizon League (Northern Kentucky won
their tournament), with a conference record of 7-11, and a 15-18
overall. Certainly worthy of a home game.....NOT!
       Here is the 16-team field:

Here are some announced CBI experimental rule changes:
  HTML http://www.gazellegroup.com/main/cbi/cbi-utilize-experimental-mens-basketball-rules/
Anyway, 8 PM ET on Wednesday.. First link above says final
series (best 2-of-3) is on ESPNU. Not sure if all games on
       ESPN3 or not.
