Appreciated the fight from SBU tonight but pretty sure the
better team won. Just can't shake that UA/Brown disappointment
in these games that count. Thanks to Woodhouse for carrying this
team beyond what was expected. I'll miss watching that guy play.
I understand UMBC took a game in the CIT, so I assume SBU will
have a chance to pay for something more. Meh...I didn't pay
attention to those games even when Warney was on the team. If
they play, hope they enjoy.
Not sure who will bring the ball up and run the show next year,
but from what I gather we should have some good players coming
in. Thanks for all the smart thinking and spirit here. See you
next year. Time to get my rod and reels out and catch some fish
soon...

Very disappointing loss. I knew it would be a tough game, but I
thought we'd pull it out.
Some points:
- I thought the refs were terrible all game for both teams
(didn't decide final score though).
- Both teams played great defense, and Albany just locked us up
down the stretch
- Woodhouse, who looked like he played the last 8 minutes on one
leg was phenomenal. What a great career, and just not sure how
you replace him next year
- Things that really killed us tonight:
1) The back-to-back 3's at the end of the 1st half, and our
very poor time management that gave them that last shot
2) The Boals technical really hurt our momentum
3) The difference in the game was free throw shooting. Albany
was 87% at the line, and we were very poor. When Woodhouse
misses 4 in a game,
you know it's going to be a long night
4) Woodhouse and Yeboah were the only ones to really show up
tonight. Sekunda played poorly. Sturdivant player poorly, and
disappeared the last 3 weeks of
the season. Nyama played tentative for a good part of
the game, and was too amped up, picking up a couple of stupid
fouls early
5) I thought that when Nyama picked up his 4th, it let the
air out of the balloon. Our press instantly became ineffective
at that point. We needed his athleticism out
there on D
Congrats to Albany. I thought that they were going to cave at
the end, but Will Brown once again put the whammy on us. A
superb regular season for us, and somewhat of a disappointing
post-season. Going to Patrick for the finale, would have been a
reward that this team deserved, IMO.
Hard to excited for any CBI or CIT game, should SBU choose to
play in it.

Tough loss. I hope Vermont wins the AE and takes a game in the
NCAAs... it would make me feel better about tonight. Vermont is
the best team in the conference this season and nobody was going
to beat them...

Basketball isn't my forte, but we really need to get bigger in
the post. We need one or two BIG (7'+) men to anchor our team.
Without that we'll always struggle against the better teams even
when we do make it to the NCAAT again. Warney did a lot for us,
but this program could always use more BIG men. I hope we're
able to recruit more/get them to transfer in. I re-watched parts
of the Kentucky game last year and if we had more size we'd have
been much more competitive. The good mid-major teams who are
dangerous in the tournament tend to have size we just don't have
and IIRC have never had (though again I don't pay nearly as much
attention to Bball as football).
I don't care for the NIT/CIT/CBI/whatever much, but if we can go
on a run or win it then it can't hurt our program.

I think next season our incoming freshman have some great
opportunities to play right away. Sturdivant and Secunda
haven't played well since January. Petras needs to go I
watched smaller guys shoot right over him , he cant defend,
doean't shoot and has hands of lead. Why tie up a scholarship
for that type of play . Give me 3 more Yeboah types and we win
20 games next season.

Realistically, any big who makes it to us is going to have his
limitations. I'm not asking for much in the way of athleticism
or scoring. Just give me somebody who's physical, will stand his
ground in the post, box out, a guy who knows his role, maybe can
hit a short jumper and isn't an embarrassment at the line.
Pretty much anybody who's played for Vermont and Albany the last
5-10 years would do. You know what I mean? Just big, physical
bodies who are assets because they aren't liabilities.

That's exactly the kind of player I had in mind. Just somebody
who is big, physical, and willing to compete down low. You're
not going to find 7 footers at your local gym on a Tuesday night
working out obviously, but given who we are as a school, and the
level we've risen to, I don't think it should be all that
difficult to get a guy like that to come to Campus. The UNCs and
Kentuckys of the world can't have them all...

I'm excited to see the recruiting work that Boals and Co. will
do when Iroegbu, Saintel, Sekunda, Petras, Sturdivant and Nyama
(possibly next year) come off the books in 2018.

I just want to thank the players and Coach Boals for completely
obliterating any preseason expectation or projection set for the
Seawolves. This team wasn't as good as Albany or Vermont. But
that's okay. This season saw tremendous growth from the court to
the bench.
It's very clear that we're building something special, and I'm
pumped for next year, the year after and the year after that.
The seeds are definitely planted and the harvest will be
bountiful.

That email that season ticket holders received certainly
suggested that this season isn't over yet. Maybe even a home
game? Details to come Sunday night.

SB did well enough this year to deserve a post season bid either
in the CBI or CIT. A home game or two would certainly be nice.
