       6-8/230 sr F Mike Rowley 5.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, .500 FG%, .818 FT%
When you're on your third preview, there usually isn't much to
add that people don't already know. However, keep an eye on this
kid Campbell, who began to see regular time in the UA rotation
after our first meeting this year. He transferred in from a juco
and played sparingly for the first half – he totaled 11 points
through our game on 1/8. Since then, he's topped 30 minutes 10
times and been in double digits quite a bit too, including a
career-high 25 to beat UMBC a few weeks back when Cremo was in
foul trouble. He had 12 and 6 against us in our second meeting.
Never mind the offense though. Campbell guards the opposition's
best player – I'm thinking Nyama or Yeboah considering his size
       – and was named to the AE All-Defensive Team.
Does Nichols have an encore in him? As many of you know, he
scored 40 in UA's quarterfinal win over Hartford. However, we've
done a pretty good job bottling him up, holding him to just 10.5
ppg in two games on 8 for 27 shooting. His absence down the
stretch was a major part of UA's meltdown in the game here, and
he shot a dismal 4 for 16 in the rematch.
We've hung with them on the boards in both contests, which is
more than most teams can say. UA had a nice +7.5 advantage on
the glass this season, and +5.2 in conference play (best in the
conference). By contrast, we broke even.
In fact, despite having beaten them twice in the regular season,
we were overmatched by them statistically. By category ...
Albany: Scoring offense, scoring margin, FT%, FG%, three-point
       FG%, three-point FG% defense, rebounding defense, rebounding
margin, assists, assist/turnover ratio, offensive rebounds
Stony Brook: FG% defense, rebounding offense, blocked shots,
turnover margin, defensive rebounds, three point FGs made
       Tie: Scoring defense, steals
This wasn't as lopsided as I thought when I started compiling
the lists but some notable ones in there for sure ... all the
shooting categories, the three-point arc, the glass. We will
need a banner effort from the boys on Monday. I'd love to see
Sturdivant conjure up one last double-double when we need him,
and for Sekunda and Iroegbu to add scoring from deep. I give
ourselves a solid chance as long as we can continue to hang in
on the boards and hit our perimeter shots. We have shown plain
old GUTS the entire season, and played a million close games in
       our arena.

No question, Albany playing better basketball than SBU right
now. Add to that, the kid Nichols is on fire, and undoubtedly
both he and the team are playing for the untimely passing of his
sister (remember Peter Hooley?). Further, Will Brown is
masterful in big games, and has 5 AE titles to show for it. All
this spells trouble for Stony Brook, right?
Not so fast. Coach Boals has done an unbelievable job with this
team, who lost 4 of their top 5 players. He's made believers
out of them, and they've played that way most of the year. Add
to that the expected sellout crowd on Monday, and I think SBU
neutralizes the advantage. I expect a close, hard-fought game
that will go down to the last 2 minutes, and may be determined
       by free throws.
The key for SBU is on the defensive end, IMO. Both Nichols and
Cremo have to be held in check on the offensive end. I would
put Nyama/UC on Nichols, and Saintel/Yeboah on Cremo, in an
attempt to hold them down. Since Woodhouse is not one of our
best defensive players and is our best offensive player, I would
aim to put Woodhouse on their off-guard defensively to minimize
his fouls and maximize his on-court minutes. We need him to
play 38 minutes again, no doubt.
Offensively, Woodhouse has to lead the way, Yeboah has to
continue to shoot well and rebound, and someone else needs to
step up big time. Sturdivant has been way too quiet over the
last several weeks, and needs to get back into the flow. His
post moves need to be quicker and more decisive; he has been
holding the ball too long and thinking too much in the box. We
also will need Nyama, Sekunda, and UC to contribute as well.
I think it's fair to say that if we lose to Albany on Monday, it
still will have been a very good season. If we defeat Albany,
it's fair to say that it will have been an absolutely great
season (and will continue). Here's hoping that the 4,000 of us
at IFCU on Monday night can make it an absolutely great season.
       Go Seawolves!
       P.S. Go UNH!

Plenty of pre-Boals historical heartache with UA, hope there is
a full boisterous crowd, and hope it's a good game. Spot on
pre-game thoughts here, I'd say. Get after it SBU and see you
all there (in spirit of course because I don't know who any of
       y'all are!).

       AE lines for 3/6
       Albany (-1) STONY BROOK
       VERMONT (-11) New Hampshire
It is a pick 'em in a couple places but we are a slight dog at
home to a team we beat twice.

We've beaten Albany twice this season and I'm sick and tired of
losing to them in the AE tournament...
I'd love nothing more than to DESTROY them by double digits
       tomorrow night. 8)

You know that Will Brown will have his team prepared with a
solid game plan. As Checkmate pointed out, they are 8-2 in
       their last 10, and that's probably the reason why we're a 1
       point underdog.
One thing that's got to be in the back of Albany's mind, is
blowing that 19-point lead at our place with 5 minutes left.
Possibly one of the worst collapses in all of sports history
(yes, worse even than that recent Atlanta Falcons debacle).
With a packed house of screaming fans, energy abound, and the
reminder of that game still in their minds, we have the
potential to win by double digits. I still think it's gonna be
close though, and go down to the wire. It;s going to be a war
tonight, and I'm already pumped for this game!

Line's up to 1 1/2 in a couple places in favor of Albany.

Good! Hopefully, this will add further fuel to SBU's
       tank.......

I think the game might be sold out, but have no fear because I
might have 3 or 4 extra tickets in Section 109. Let me know if
       you're interested?
