clutch shooting from sekunda (the "deuce"). both from 2 and 3.
i think he needs more playing time.
woody a perfect 9/9 from FT, 23pts and had limited time due to
foul trouble.
clutch paint play from sturdy in the waning minutes. and btw
yeboah- 10 boards and 16pts, made use of the minutes. well
done.
you could tell early on that BC would get into foul trouble and
lost two forwards, darley being the key. and then two guards.
not only did boals coach a win in another tight conference game,
but they really opened it up at the end- we were up two and
stretched it to ten.
bingo beats hartford. VT beats UA.

UMBC made adjustments in the 2nd half with their zone and made a
huge, 21 point run to come within 1 point. Coach Boals made
adjustments of his own with switching player on player. Great
job coach! Something tells me if this had happen last year, SB
would have lost this game..

Solid, solid win from the good guys
Iroegbu is legitimately one of the worst 3 point shooters I can
remember. He needs to eliminate that from his game because he
can't buy a bucket from deep.
Woodhouse is amazing- thank you Coach Pikiell for getting us our
MVP this year. This team would be abysmal without him.
Sturdivant gets too easily shut down by quality bigs- it wasn't
until late in the game that he found some holes. I'm worried
about him against teams with quality big men like UVM.
Yeboah continues to slowly improve.
We don't have the talent to match up to Vermont but we'll see
how it goes. We have nothing to lose.

I read somewhere Iroegbu was brought in to shoot the 3 ball...
I agree about Woodhouse. This team would be flirting with 7th
place if he wasn't on the team

Nice game from the reserve guards. Aggression from UC and
Almonacy! UC taking it to the goal! His first time in double
digits and he had some big boards too. Those two gave us some
big minutes with Woodhouse in foul trouble.
How about seeing basically our second unit close out the game,
with Sturdy and Woody shuttling in and out. *34* bench points
tonight.
A less attractive stat: *76* free throws between the two teams.
Yuck.
I would like to see Sturdy's first and second half splits. I
feel like he's had some big second halves for us. Another one
tonight.
I thought UMBC did a nice job taking us out of our rhythm
offensively by picking up their defense in the backcourt or at
least at half. It took us longer to get into our sets and it
felt strained. Maura is a pain. I also think Woody was conscious
of how Maura's size disadvantage makes it easier for him to sell
drawing offensive fouls. Maybe not. Just how I saw it.
Love Darley. He's got a nice game inside and out. I feel like he
remembered last year's tournament game too. Loves our gym.
Sekunda's three at 47-45 felt like a 10-pointer.
Saturday's for first place, boys.

I think Iroegbu needs to try to diversify his offensive game
because he looked good when he wasn't jacking up shots from
downtown.
I think I have seen enough to say he's not a Sekunda type 3
point shooter. He'll hit them once in a while but he's not good
enough to be jacking up 3s all the time. If he wants to see
playing time he needs to drive to the hoop and create shots for
himself and others.

Nice game almost all around . Some of guys need to make better
decisions with the ball . It got vey sloppy there . Yeboah is a
real nice pick up and only a freshman .

I agree completely. College basketball has become less watchable
because so many games turn into free throw shooting contests.
Refs in the pro games allow some incidental contact and let the
players actually play solid defense. It's a contact sport, or
should be.

Yesterday officiating team was probably the worst I have ever
seen in my life, at all levels.. The NCAA really needs to start
allowing these players to play, and stop calling every little
hair movement foul..My voice is gone this morning from me
screaming at the one official who called a foul of Yeboah, late
in the 2nd half, when he was inbounding the ball and the refs
called a foul on him, instead on the 2 defenders who almost
mugged him.. Unbelievable... This game took 15 minutes longer
than most other games because of all the BS fouls these
officials were calling..
