Very interesting what's happened with Hartford. By now, you know
that Pancake Thomas transferred to Western Kentucky where he's
averaging in double figures. What's also happened is that two
promising freshmen from a year ago are bit pieces – Carroll, who
averaged 11 and 6 before getting hurt last year, and George
Blagojevic, a lanky forward who was fourth in scoring.
I'm not sure Hartford has the guns in this one – although tell
that to BC, which UH beat earlier in the year. Ross, a transfer
from EMU years ago, is an experienced guard capable of putting
up big numbers in the point column (35 against Niagara, two
other 30-point games), and Dunne is an incredible athlete who's
built like a high jumper. He had 25 in the BC win.
Do the Hawks have the horses to stay with us though? Did I just
say that?
Attia has emerged a significant contributor after transferring
in from a juco, having logged career highs in minutes (27) and
rebounds (11) in UH's win over Maine on Monday. He's reckless
defensively, having fouled out four times already this year
despite playing only 18.5 minutes a night. We can't count on
that though.
We've won eight straight in the series – of course we know who
to credit for that. Let's make it nine nevertheless.

We just have to be careful with some of these teams . I expect
us to win but cant let down our guard

Correct. Last year I felt like we could roll the ball out there
and beat most of these teams and handily. Despite the quick
start, we obviously can't feel that way this year, although the
arrow is pointing up.

Well done, SBU. Tough stretch of games coming up now starting
with Bing, a team hungry for a win that always seems to play us
tough. Keep it rolling!

A real nice effort tonight. It was nice to see us finish the
first half with a flurry to go up eight, and then to carry that
into the second half.
That was Saintel's best game. A season high in boards and his
first-ever double double here. He really got on the defensive
glass, and was more assertive offensively. He's about as bad as
Walker was behind the arc but love the athleticism and motor.
Hartford did itself a disservice by not feeding Dunne the ball.
I know he got his second foul early, but he was clearly feeling
it. I also thought Ross was tentative for no apparent reason. He
was giving up wide open threes for terrible twos.
Almonacy has to grow up if he's going to stick here. There's no
excuse for challenging a seven footer late when up 20. Boals was
justifiably irate, although he has to work on his I'm-really-mad
game. He half took his coat off like Brian Johnson in the
Breakfast Club when he was sitting next to Bender. I felt bad
for the walk-ons when they got yanked but there was no reason
not to kill clock on the Almonacy and Campbell shots at the rim.
+18 on the boards. 22 of 25 from the line. Good chance to win
every time you do that.
Real nice second half from Ty. Hartford had little inside
presence with Attia (a fouling machine!) on the pine. It was
good to see Ty being aggressive.
Tough night for Kam. Turnovers and fouls, often together. Yuck.
When Hartford went zone, Yeboah had so many looks from 8-10 feet
in the middle of the defense. I wish he spun and took that shot
most times. Still a solid night despite a low percentage.
Can't believe we're 5-0.

Starting to see good team chemistry. We had four guys in double
figures last night that is great to see . On to Bingo Sunday
then a tough 3 game home stand ,
