It's incredible. We have TWO guys shooting over 40 percent, and
Mitchell barely counts as one with only a couple attempts per
game. There just aren't a lot of weapons out there. On the good
days, we have a chance; on the bad days, this.
A bigger concern is our lack of defense. We entered last night's
game 318th out of 347 teams in field goal percentage defense.
With yet another opponent making more shots than it missed,
we'll drop down a few more spots. We just don't have a lot of
toughness inside.
I still think we'll be all right in the America East. Maybe a
.500 type year.

Thats about all we can ask for this year checkmate. To be
honest. I gave this team 8 wins this season.. I think i posted
that on here months ago.. But 8 wins is what I said, and that is
ok! We have to give Boals a chance to reload with his guys and
his style of playing basketball. This team was built around
Pikiell. Pikiell style of playing BB.
Next year will be the transition year, and I think we go from
the bottom of the conference to the top once again.....

For those who were at the game, was Almonacy just a completely
different player? He looked great in the scrimmage, completely
LOST the first eight games of the year, I saw a flicker of
something against Rutgers, and then he leads us in scoring
against Hofstra. What did that look like? Whenever he's touched
the ball in the games I've seen, I've BEGGED him to be
aggressive (especially with the limited second unit) but he just
looked so timid, like even HE thought he didn't belong. He was
brought here to be a perimeter threat. Did he finally loosen up?

I watched the game on Hofstra Portal. I congratulated Alomancy
on Twitter after the game. I think he finally broke out of his
Freshman shell. I saw glimpse of him break away and drive to the
basket like he used to do for Brentwood. His 3 ball was firing,
and he made a couple really nice defensive take-a-ways against
Hofstra. All in all, he looked good. I think Almondancy will do
just fine against school in the AE, CAA, Patriot league, etc...
where they dont have huge guards to stop him...

A couple of our new guys did well. I think Campbell should be
starter in he middle as the season moves on. Add Sturdivant and
Nyamma up front with Woodhouse and Yeboah back court. Campbell
I like he is coming along . Sturdivant can help us more from a
wing slot than trying to play center at 6'7".

Anyone know what the situation is with Sekunda? He didn't play
at all last night (certainly could have used his 3-ball a
bunch). It looked to me like he never took his warmups off. I
hope he hasn't reinjured that knee, as he will be sorely needed
in AE play.
Sorry, guys. I previously posted this under the wrong topic.

I agree with an earlier post- I think SB's ideal starting 5
going into conference play will be Sturdivant, Nyamma, Campbell,
Yeboah (or Sekunda) and Woodhouse.

Give Campbell the ball. Let Sturdivant do what does best be a
forward and score inside . Hey I think we have the only 7
footer in the conference so sue him .

I agree with using Campbell. He is a good post player. The only
issue I see with him is his aggressiveness. He gets himself into
foul trouble too much. But that is fixable with time on the
floor and coaching..
