I wonder about this game. We all heard about NU's win over
UConn, and we all see that we're 1-5, but maybe we're not that
far apart?
Northeastern beat LAST year's team by double digits at their
place, and while some of their key components from that game
have moved on, the cupboard is far from bare. The offense starts
and ends with Williams. He's led NU in assists in every game
this season, and in points in all but one. NU got a lift in the
offseason when Alex Murphy transferred in following stints at
Duke and Florida. He was just a spare part there but has proven
to be a solid commodity for the Huskies. He had 9 points and 15
boards in NU's win over UConn.
I'm interested to see this kid Jeremy Miller. Off the bat, you
see he's a big boy, but nearly half his shots have come from
three. He actually led the Huskies with 18 points last year
against us. As a team, Northeastern shoots 39 PERCENT from
three. Gotta get a hand in their faces every time.
Northeastern's another big free throw team – 128 makes to 129
attempts from their opponents.
Still, NU was picked to finish seventh out of nine teams in the
CAA. UConn has proven to be very, very ordinary, and
Northeastern has lost to BU, LIU Brooklyn and Cornell since
proving to be the superior pack of Huskies. They beat Maine,
considered the worst team in the AE by most, but they were tied
with eight minutes left.
On the flipside, we hung around with BC and Maryland, didn't we?
I know we lost to lowly Loyola but might we be better than that,
better enough to pull this thing out? Here's hoping. We CAN'T
rely on Herculean efforts from Sturdy every night. I'm looking
at Kwasi this time. We need him to be a solid second or third
scorer on Saturday and going forward.

This will be a tough one .They beat us with Warney last
season and we cant match their size underneath . We could drop
this one bug time.

That one felt good. Great effort by the guys. I think many of us
would admit that we thought we were doomed at the half when they
cut it to four and then went up early in the second, but we
gutted it out.

Nice win, and good to see solid play from everyone (both Petras
and Campbell with noticeably positive minutes) and minimal
lapses throughout the game. Hey, clearly if this team continues
to play with high energy, if the threes fall, if the FTs fall,
if the reserves gain confidence...they could win a few games in
the AE. A game like this one up next against Lehigh would be
good to see.

Between this and the Maryland betting line prediction, I might
start taking your predictions to heart.
I know the record isn't great, but I'm pretty happy with how the
team is playing right now. I think the coach staff knows what
they're doing and the team is only going to get better. The
Seawolves are going to surprise some people in conference play.

Good call again Laxa. Whenever a team makes over 50% shootig the
3, good things happen.. "live by the three, ............"

Nice to see those 3's starting to fall, especially from Ireogbu
and Sekunda. The defense looks generally stellar. But, I do
notice that they seem to fall victim to too many back doors.
It's appeared to me that Yeboah hasn't been quite right in the
past couple of games. He appears to have a leg wrap, and as I
observed him heading to the bench a couple of times, he seemed
to be limping slightly. He's a key player, in my opinion, and
up until these last couple of outings he had scored consistently
in double figures. Any insight?
