Agree with assessments above, and I know I'm stating the
painfully obvious when I say there are many weaknesses with this
team. Here's hoping improvements come throughout the year.
Something else I noticed in this game was what felt like a bit
more action/fire from the coaching staff. I'm sure everyone in
the arena noticed Boals tear into the team during that first
half timeout. Clearly there was an energy drain in the minutes
prior, and the 3 sequences right before (2 on defense, 1
offense) were simply terrible for SBU. After the timeout they
went on that spirited run that gave them a lead at half. To add,
seemed to me the assistants were more active as well.
I can't help but think all that is a good thing. No doubt there
will be a lot of teaching and growing pains this year.

Coaching staff has a good system in place but this team just
doesn't have much talent. Next year with our talented freshmen
we will be on much better footing.
Petras is just not a good basketball player. He works hard but
he's got no offensive game. Unfortunately based on the minutes,
Campbell may not be better.

Agreed Wolfie. Because SB has no postman or a guard who can
drive to the basket, aka Purifoy, Boles is extremely limited to
what he can do for this team, or any other coach for that
matter..
