The more talent and the higher level talent especially will
only help. Just hope they don't get to play out of position or
ignored once they are here . Our coach seems to do both very
well.

247Sports is reporting that SBU got yet another excellent WR
commitment:
J P Roane out of NJ. UNH, CCSU, UMASS and Towson had also
offered. Not that I'm complaining, but the Seawolves seem
overstocked with really good WRs and TEs!!! If Fields stays
healthy and connect with these guys, the future looks
bright--not to mention how the running game will open up for
Bedell, Gowins and Liotine!!

I truly hope that is the case . I don't think we ever had this
many wide receivers and TE's at one time.

At last count SBU has 17 scholarship kids coming in and 12
walk-ons attached are some of the names. The reason that I think
there bringing in such a big class is that we lose 21 players
for 2017 and than lose about 15 for 2018 so they want to get
these kids into the program now to develop them.

understanding he made the team as well..

Hammer these are the names I have right now as they drip them
out to me slowly I also know that they have a PK from PA and
another OL from Florida
but I don't have their names at this time. The walk-ons are
usually not put out there until they get their deposit

SBU rarely burns a red shirt year; you will see these players on
the field in 2018. A lot of players coming out of high school
do not pan out at the next level.
The last 5 years most of the WR on this team transfered to SBU;
it would be nice to see a player come into the program & build a
solid relationship w QB for 4 good years.
You will not be productive if you do not have a solid line on
both sides of the field & you depth due to injuries on the
line.
Hopefully they have a few studs in this incoming class that can
be game changers in the future of this program.

Jahquel Webb the WR from Erasmus Hall HS is already on campus so
he should be available for Spring Ball I think he's the first
true freshmen to be available for Spring we've had player from
prep Schools but not HS
At tomorrows signing event Coach P will talk about the
scholarship players only who signed their NLI not the walk-ons
because until the walk-ons pay their deposit they are not
officially in the school.

Actually in addition to Webb Oneal Stansbury and Selwin Wilks
also from Erasmus Hall graduated early and are also on campus
and going to classes so SBU has 3 freshmen available for Spring
Football
Also Cameron Lucas OL I believe out of Florida has committed
he's 6'5 305
