One other thing I forgot is that all 3 QB's are now getting
scholarship money so it would be hard to bring in a 4th one

I often question coach P abilities to find and bring in a good
QB from HS. When was the last time he did that, Kyle Essington,
i think. He needs to hire someone just to recruit a viable QB. I
feel like he settles for leftovers. Usually, the QB coach P
brings in on scholarship convert to WR. To me that is a waste of
scholarship money and position.

If it was up to you, AJ Otranto would have started the last four
years. Do you remember him? 😃 I told he would never set
foot on the field. 😀

QB.. You appear to know everything, don't you. Maybe you could
be hired as an associate AD and clean things up a little. .You
are the most negative person i have ever met. You could suck the
oxygen out of a room.. ;D ;D

You know I'm kidding - didn't you see the smiley faces? I have
been very positive about Woodhouse where I think he should be
POY.
Talking about pot calling the kettle black! You are very
negative on the qbs, the football coach, and Petras.
Hey, I thought you could take a joke and always thought you were
a great fan. I'll just chalk up your bad mood as being a Jets
fan (I assume).

Based upon what I've see on the roster list, it looks to me
like:
--LB Jake Carlock (Jr.)
--OL James Rizzo (Sr.)
--K/P James Wollweber (Sr.)
--DB Bradley Meeks (So.)

As others have stated- Carlock left because of the major he
wanted (is one our son's best friends who texted him during the
Christmas break the day he left) so glad for him to realize he
wants to focus on his major educational aspects.
As to JW- was not going to play (was not even on the 2 deep
depth chart) and besides has an upcoming job with his father
coming up very soon in the construction industry as an intern
and is graduating, so why put time in on the sidelines when you
can make some money!
So no negatives to "spin" on these two on why they left.

The most important thing a student athlete can do is to succeed
with his academics; this is the one thing that will carrry them
thoughout life.
To be able to achieve this while being an athlete is very
impressive....
For an athlete to go particapate in workouts & practice & never
be able to actualy play; that is dedication.
If a you young man has an opportunity better himself due to not
being able to play; then making the right decision is the most
important thing he can do for himself; & we should support them
in there endeavours.
i wish Jake the best......

Problem with my son and I assume most kids is that red shirts
year. My son is use to playing since he was four. He is so
impatient and after this year of not playing wanted to leave. I
had to tell him, you knew you were not playing last year and
this year you have a chance but you have to work for it this is
not pee-wee or high school anymore all the kids are good. So we
will see what happens this coming year

I have been around the SBU Program since it was a club team when
the HC was Fred Kemp which is back in the late 70's I would
never have dreamed that SBU would be where it is today. The
unfortunate thing about being where we now are not every player
who gets recruited to come here will play especially if you are
a walk-on. The Coaches tend to concentrate on the scholarship
players and pay less attention to the walk-ons I know it sounds
unfair but that is the reality of it.

Yes this is true, during spring is when they should decided who
plays and who doesn't. Shouldn't matter if he is a walk on or
scholarship player.
