I stopped in for a few minutes to listen to coach P talk about
the new recruits.. I heard coach P talk about how he didnt
recruit a QB and was very happy with that move, he said Fields
and Carbone will have to fight for the starting QB job.Pat
Irvine moved from QB to WR.. Not surprised there... He als said
Carbone has improved as a QB.. I want what he is smoking. I pray
to god Fields is the real deal......

we cant afford another year of Carbone at the helm. we heard
the same BS last spring, that Joe had improved mightily in the
offseason, only to see him regress from 2015. this coaching
staff better get their $hit together and learn that SB has to
successfully throw the ball to be a contender. last year is a
perfect example of the Offense leaning too heavily on the run
game because we had no passing attack. I suggest they name
Fields the starter after Spring ball, and let him take the
majority of snaps in the summer. what do we have to lose? we
cant afford a repeat of 2016. but with that said, P loves to
get in the heads of his QBs and mess with them. we've seen that
for the past 3 or 4 years.

Carbone showed no improvement from his freshman to sophomore
year. 52% => 52% completion percentage. 2TDs => 3TDs, 8 INT =>
12 INT. This is not going to cut it. If they want to be a ground
and pound team, they need a more accurate QB. This has to be a
fair QB competition- it cannot be handed to Carbone.
I'm hoping/praying that Fields is the real deal. He has tons of
weapons at WR, TE, and RB- hopefully the coaching staff think
he's the frontrunner for the job. Would be great to have a QB
that we can watch for the next 4 years.

I know everyone was hoping that we would bring in another QB
this year but didn't happen and I think I know why Carbone
(junior), Cassidy (sophomore) and Fields (R/S Freshmen) will all
have from now through the season opener to work with the OC
every day remember he came after Spring last year (I'm pretty
sure about that) so these guys will have a lot of time to work
with him, If they brought someone new in now it would in my
opinion upset the apple cart. I do believe if none of them prove
themselves by the end of spring ball they could then pursue a DI
transfer type at that time.
The AD said his priority is to fill the stadium up well there's
got to be a reason to come out to a game so I really believe if
Coach P is going to win this is the year as the schedule is
perfect for us so if we don't there's no excuse.
For those of you who want to know where Jake Carlock transferred
to he wen to LIU Post
They are bringing in a PK from Chicago for a visit this week

One other thing I forgot is that all 3 QB's are now getting
scholarship money so it would be hard to bring in a 4th one

I often question coach P abilities to find and bring in a good
QB from HS. When was the last time he did that, Kyle Essington,
i think. He needs to hire someone just to recruit a viable QB. I
feel like he settles for leftovers. Usually, the QB coach P
brings in on scholarship convert to WR. To me that is a waste of
scholarship money and position.

If it was up to you, AJ Otranto would have started the last four
years. Do you remember him? 😃 I told he would never set
foot on the field. 😀

[/quote] What were our options?? Another season of a mystery
QB.. You appear to know everything, don't you. Maybe you could
be hired as an associate AD and clean things up a little. .You
are the most negative person i have ever met. You could suck the
oxygen out of a room.. ;D ;D

Let us all be civil. No need for personal attack. We all root
for the same team.
