Another uninspiring post practice/scrimmage feedback by the head
coach! Maybe, NYstateofmind should have a little talk with the
head coach (never played DI football in front of 60,000) about
being more positive.
GO STONY BROOK FOOTBALL!

in the comments today......If your play calling is that
readable by the D then SBU has some issue with play calling.....
I am very concearned also with the amount of time the starters
are playing & the injuries that are pilling up.
I just heard that one of our RB now has a knee issue from today
game... i alo notice throwing players into special teams that
never played throughout camp & putting other players at risk.
Not a good thing to do
They need to be coach up 1st before filling these slots......
i also notice that both QB were not concsistent with throwing
the ball & they are not stepping into the throw....
Team has some challenges in the next 2 weeks.......

Call it what you want you will not see an inspiring practice out
there . It is plain vanilla every season and that's how we
play the regular season. I have been to more than one practice
and no one goes out for the 40 yard bomb because we cant throw
that far with any accuracy . So its up the middle , student
body right or left then the 10 or 12 yard pass and punt. I
don't see much more than a 5 -6 season if everyone stays
relatively healthy .

Laxnation... I think your quote from June says it best......
"Some know the game and others don't (that's you) Some people
have played the game and others have never played the game"
(again that's you). And then of course your famous line of "If
you have any LACROSSE questions or concerns please always come
to ME first" (so will do)! And lets not forgot your... "Asian
students don't like football" comment (very classy).
Secondly, your BB in three months reference you have stated on
MULTIPLE times (but am impressed you have season tickets in
section 109 or is to now 103?) You seem to know a lot about
coaching (well, this of course comes from all your years in
coaching?) so no I don't have any advice for Coach P on post
interviews. When people like you are critical of a post
scrimmage interview on a Saturday afternoon- maybe its time you
go out and get some sun!
But I do have some advice for you. Maybe you should just change
your GO SEAWOLVES to fit your true self. GO SEAWOLVES "WHINER!"
Then you can proudly state... What's a SEAWOLVES "WHINER"? I AM
A SEAWOLVES WHINER.

I feel very honored that you spent hours reviewing my previous
posts. Again, parents of athletes should not go on these
message boards and you're a prime example. I understand you
standing behind your son's team, but I don't think you'll be
happy viewing this Board. Oh well, to each his own.

spent about 2 mins- because thats all your worth. Guess you have
a hard time dealing with facts and getting called out? And
again... Folks like you who have NO playing or coaching
experience should be the LAST ones to give advice on a message
board, but then you did play LAX so looking forward to all your
"lax exp. and pontification. "GO SEAWOLVES WHINER".

I can understand why some fans are fustrated; there are a lot of
parents of players in this program who are concerned about the
direction of this team. THIS IS A FACT.
The numbers don't lie; and when your dead last in most
satiistics passing, completions, 3rd down efficiency it's a big
concearn.... i believe that SBU ranked 113 out of 115 teams.
This has not been corrected in the last 3 years; this team does
not have depth in key positions. There is no way to deny that
the QB position has been a key issue.
Carbone has shown grit; but now it's time to decide is he your
#1 best option. Ii am hoping that he is at this point; we do
not have a 2nd string that i ready.
I spend a lot of time supporting & traveling to each game to
support this program; i am hopeful we can put it together & it
will fall on the coaches this year to make it hapen.....
We have a lot of good players on both sides of the ball; it will
fall on the staff n good game planning to accomplish this goal &
to playoff this year.... & change is needed on the play calling;
it's very vanilla & readable.
There is all forms of knowledge in the game of football;
individuals who never played & some who did.... so please let's
not male it personnel. Some of the best coaches i had a
chance to meet in the NCAA & NFL never played the game but they
are one hell of a great coach & they have put together a
winningn tradition...
i look forward to my last 2 summer weekend beofre logging a lot
of miles & time this coming season... I see ya in Tampa.

Just watched Coach Priore's offseason recap
I'm pretty stoked about the O-line- that's as experienced a
group as we've had in a while. I'm also excited about our skill
position players. We are obviously stacked at RB but WR could be
a strength if Ray gets some help from the rest of the squad.
Defensively, can't wait to see Josh Valentin play this year-
he's an animal and I think our D-line is going to be fun to
watch this year. The linebackers are going to have big years if
all goes according to plan. Plus we don't have JMU or Nova on
our schedule this year- if we are gonna make some noise it will
be this year.
Looks like Carbone is the starter going into the season- I just
hope he's improved since last year. I know Priore wants to put
on a brave face but I don't think anybody who watched games last
year thought the QB helped us get to 5-2 as he stated. Even if
Joe's the starter, I hope Fields still gets on the field to mix
things up. It would make me so happy if the QB position was
settled for the next few years with a homegrown player- would
love to develop a player like Nova did with John Robertson who
was a fantastic college player. Anyway, Carbone probably won't
have too long a leash so he better give it his best.
Looking forward to this season (as always)- let's hope for the
best!
