If Carbone is the starting QB, its time to start looking forward
to basketball. Might be a good kid but he is not a DI caliber
QB- not sure if we have one on the roster.
I would absolutely love to be wrong but he was just so awful
last year- one of the worst statistical seasons that I can
recall.

Take your beef up with Shawn Heilbron.. I have on more than one
occasion about this topic. If more fans like you and me voice
our dislikes with the head coach maybe they will start putting
some more pressure on Priore. I am getting tired of being the
only one and the loudest critic of him..
Last year in one of his really bad home games, I screamed down
to the field. " Great job coach, keep running the ball up the
gut"!!! Well, The HC heard me and turned around and gave me the
double bird.. Everybody around me saw it except for me.. I
really wish the cameras were on him at that time because, I dont
think the NCAA and the league would take to that very lightly!!!

Priore gave you the finger?? In response to you telling the
truth?? He should absolutely not be the HC of our program.
Extremely crass and unprofessional.

True story.. Maybe now some people on this board can understand
my dislike with the HC. Not so much that he gave me the bird but
more so his stubbornness and limited play calling on offense.
Time to change things up a bit.. I've been called a lot worse
than that in my life.. We all just laughed it off when it
happened..

Well either way if Priore fails to adapt to the modern college
game, I'm fully confident that he will be shown the door
post-haste. With all the capital investments coming to the
university (indoor training facility etc), I am fully confident
that we can make a splashy hire. IMHO at the FCS level its
definitely one of the better jobs if it becomes available- I
think the gap between the FCS and FBS-non Power 5 conferences is
not that big anymore which helps our case.
I think Priore needs to go but, again, I'd love to be wrong. The
running game can absolutely exist in the college game but this
isn't the NFL chief- lining up in an I-formation and running up
the gut 3 straight plays isn't going to win games in the CAA. In
many ways, being in the Big South got Priore to this point- he
got easy wins against a lot of bad teams.

I agree completely Wolfie. Priore had the perfect storm of
Hofstra shutting down their program at the right time along with
being in the Big South where we could beat up on schools with
weak programs like Presbyterian, Gardner Webb, and VMI. Now that
we're playing teams in the CAA that rival our talent, he's
struggling. It's a fight every week in this conference and Chuck
can't handle that.
Nothing wrong with running the ball at all, I'm actually glad we
run it a lot. The problem arises when that's all you can do. We
NEED a QB and I don't care how we get one. There's got to be a
halfway decent kid riding the bench somewhere at an FBS school
who'd be willing to come play for us.

I am generally of the opinion that Coach P sooner or later is
going to be on his way out, and like others are somewhat
dismayed by the way our program is going. But, if you want to
know what is really pissing me off is this "well we have 3
months till BB season". WOW! First off I am guessing many of you
don't remember the DISMAL seasons the BB teams had (several
years back in 2006-2009 if I remember we were LAST on SEVERAL
occasions) and the NCAA even placed the program on violation
because of the Low APR. But we did have a great seasons in
2015-16 and second place last year before getting blown out (by
the way we are also 0-3 in CBI Play) but am guessing the BB
history is lost on some of you.
As a parent of a current football player (yes I might have a bit
of a soft shell) I have been waiting for ONE of you so called
fans to even congratulate Timon Parris on his preseason First
Team All American status or the All Conference guys of Stacy
Bedell, Shayne Lawless. Nope that would be too easy wouldn't it?
The football team APR is only about 50 points higher than
others, and for the past several years we have had records on
the Academic Honors list, but lets make sure we continue on the
rant to "the start of BB season" while trashing football.

Oh I don't think anybody here is knocking the players- there is
a ton of talent all over this team. Calling people here "so
called fans" is a bit disingenuous. I don't think anybody here
is rooting against this team- I think what is clear is that the
people around Priore have had a keen eye for talent. They've
done a great job on the transfers market specifically getting LI
players back here like Bedell. Timon Paris has been a great
story without a doubt- great to see a local kid develop into a
nationally recognized talent. The defense top to bottom has been
outstanding despite being asked to win games by itself for
basically the last three years. These kids work their tails off
which is great.
I've been a season ticket holder for the last 3+ years and have
followed the team closely for much longer (and donated a good
share of money to the athletics department)- the program has
definitely hit a plateau since coming to the CAA. The football
program's success is huge for the university long term so I'm
pulling for them obviously.

OK- how about the daily "carbone" deluge? My point was and STILL
is, that if you cant leave off the "don't worry BB season is in
about 3 months", then these ARE so-called fans in making this
statement. It shows a real lack of class and true support. If
you cant see that, then I don't know what else to write.

NYSOM, I couldn't agree more with what you said. It is way to
easy to keep pointing out negatives. There are talented kids on
this team but you never hear about them on this site. The
program lands a good QB commit last week and all you heard was
that he will change his mind and go somewhere else, instead of
saying nice pick up. Graduation rate and academic rating count
when u are judging a program and that is one of the reasons the
coach is still here. No talk about Beverette or others on
defense just the same played out comments about the coach. I
really dont know why some of these guys go to games. And a few
have made me not want to sit in my seats. Would love to know how
many actually played the game. At least someone else finally
said something. Again its Stony Brook not Ohio State, Urban
Meyer is not coming in to save the day.
