The polls are much more favorable to us this week:
  HTML http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fcs/fcs-coaches-poll
  HTML http://www.fcs.foo
       tball/cfb/polls.asp?div=fcs
Stony Brook is the first team out receiving votes, coming in at
#26 in both major polls. We're finally starting to get some
respect, but W&M will be a hard game. The game is at their place
and we have yet to beat them. Good news is we will certainly be
ranked next week if we beat them. The hard part will be getting
it done and moving to 4-1 on the year.

Very interesting find regarding this years team:
  HTML https://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm
I checked the Massey Composite ratings (statistical composite
rankings for teams based on a number of factors) for FCS and
Stony Brook is 11th in the FCS based on these statistical
ratings. The polls might be selling us short, but the statistics
don't. I think this could largely be due to how close we played
USF along with how statistically strong our defense is.

We need to win 2 of our next 3 going into our bye week.
That's two home games in there . We get to our by week 5-2 we
       might be ok going forward.

I'm in agreement here. Overall for a playoff berth, I still say
we need 7 wins. It's possible to get in with six wins (WIU from
the MVFC got in with six in 2015, but that was the only time)
given how ridiculously stacked the CAA is this year, but 7 this
year would be a pretty safe bet. Meaning we'd need to go 4-3
down the stretch. Other than Wagner, there are no more easy
       games on this schedule.
Though we've yet to beat them since joining the CAA, a win this
weekend over William and Mary would be huge for us as far as
putting us in a good position to make a run. I think this could
be the year we finally do it now that all the pieces seem to be
coming together. Of these next three games, I say UNH at home
will be the toughest despite their inexplicable loss to Holy
Cross. If we can run the table these next three though and reach
6-1, we'll be in real good shape. Though here's what I think
       will happen:
       W&M - L (though winnable)
       Delaware - W
UNH - W (homecoming magic returns to Lavalle)
       BYE
       Richmond - L
Albany - W (they've got a very good team this year, but they're
our rival and for the most part we've had their number. We ought
to beat the **** out of them ;D ;D )
       Wagner - W
       Maine - W
Final: 8-3 (6-2 CAA), not enough to win the conference or get a
bye, but good enough to get a home playoff game against an
       opponent from a lesser conference.

6-2 conference record should be enough for playoff at large
invite. Since SB joined CAA, every 6-2 CAA team has played in
the playoffs. Even some 5-3 teams!

Albany and Delaware both lost today . We have 3 CAA wins
and I think we beat Delaware at our house . UNH is tough but
get past them we have a tough game at Richmond those games we
       need to win 1.

Delaware will not be an easy win next week. JMU struggled today
       getting a win!!

There are no easy games in this conference. The only "easy" game
we have left is Wagner and I wouldn't even look past them. We're
looking good now. At 4-1, I'd wager we could go .500 down the
stretch and still sneak in on the back end of the playoffs.
Every game is a toss up. We could both beat, or lose to anyone
left on our schedule. Finish 7-4 and we're probably in. Finish
       8-3 and we're a lock. Finish 9-2 and we're potentially looking
       at a bye.

I watched the Delaware JMU game on TV and the Blue Hens are
better on defense than anyone we played this year except USF.
JMU had a 20 play drive and came away with nothing the reason
The reason the Blues Hens lost today was because they couldn't
generate any offense which reminded me of us up until this year
       so far.
