Right off the bat, we face a disadvantage in that BC got another
game under its belt, whereas we have to wait nine days and then
go up there to play. And talk about a tough week: at BC, two
days later at Maryland, at Towson on Friday and then the second
leg of a back-to-back the follow night. Four games in seven
days. Truthfully, heading into our four-game homestand beginning
11/30, I think we'd all be satisfied with one win in this
       stretch and thrilled with two.
We can get win #1 against BC. First off, they were 7-25 last
year. Second, Nicholls State was 11-23 last year and went up
there and won. And prior to that, BC squeaked by Division II
Stonehill (granted, a pretty good program) in its exhibition.
They were tied with under six to play. I still think we're too
green to win this one but ... maybe?
We can't lay the amount of bricks we did in our opener, and I
don't think we will. Although we handled Columbia on the glass,
I wonder if we can expect that kind of effort every night,
particularly on the road. If you've ever been, Conte Forum is a
total dead zone so I don't think anybody's really feeding off
that crowd. They had only 3,122 there for the season opener. We
need to be a high-energy team to force tough shots, force
turnovers and hold our own on the boards.
Robinson's the star of the BC bunch, averaging 12 and 4 as a
freshman in the ACC. He was second on the team in scoring,
rebounds, assists and steals. We also have to watch out for
Connor Tava, who started against Nicholls State but ran into
foul trouble. He averaged 12 and 6 for Western Michigan last
year before taking a graduate year at BC. Jeffers is a Delaware
       transfer.
BC is 18 for 36 from the line in two games :o
I like that we have the more experienced guards and, judging by
our opener, will pressure the young BC backcourt.

I know we only played 1 game this season so far and everybody
else in the conference played 2, but SB is in last place and all
other teams have at least 1 win. I'm not used to this start, but
it was and is expected. SBB gets a pass this year!!!

Fine intro, Checkmate, and thanks. Some good efforts by the AE
last night, with NH and UML getting excellent wins (and UA and
UVM at least hanging in for first halves against much better
teams). Hopefully SBU makes a good showing against this
       higher-profile team.
After the first game (plus practice) it seems to me SBU has some
strong potential for upside this season that could likely take
some time to develop. Here's hoping, wins or losses aside, that
they continue to show signs of improvement before returning home
at the end of the month.

coming off of last season's high and losing 4 starters, sure,
       expectations are lower.
however. silver lining- all those 25 win seasons- and one AE
title. im saying that even if we end up in... 5th, or 6th, we
could possibly win it all. it happens all the time in the AE.
because its about getting hot in the tourney. GO SB

This is an ACC team in name only. They will in all likelihood
struggle to stay out of the basement in their league. Perhaps an
opportunity to pick up a Power 5 win. Still, with all our new
pieces we may not be ready for this chance. I hope to be wrong.

BC took care of business against UMES, winning 73-57. 16 from
Robinson, 13 from Turner and 11 from Bowman. 31 bench points.
Graves came back to earth after a big opener.
I'm worried about us on the glass this year (even if we won that
battle against Columbia). BC has some size and experience up
       front.
On a football Sunday, I expect the stands to look similar to
       this:
  HTML http://bceagles.com/news/2016/11/15/mens-basketball-eagles-get-first-win-of-season-vs-maryland-eastern-shore.aspx.<br
/>The places seats 8,606, only 2,051 showed for the UMES game.
Boston truly couldn't care less about collegiate sports.

If we had Warney I would say we win by 10 or12 . With no go
to guy this is a mis match up front. BC by 15 points.

I was unable to watch the game today. I did follow it via a live
stat link. Sounds like a slow start followed by a good rally in
the 2nd 1/2. They ran out of time but showed an ability to
compete. Really like the aggressive Sturdivant on display in the
first two games. Tuesday will be even tougher but after that we
get back in our own weight class.
