Definitely a disappointing loss. It's strange because
individually almost everyone looks better than last year, but
the team as a whole hasn't come together. Defense and rebounding
has been questionable, which is uncharacteristic of Pikiell's
teams. Bracey seems to be struggling with the speed of the
Division 1 game. Both Hayes and Dougher haven't been shooting
that well. Jackson and Coley both look much better than last
year, but both need to turn the ball over less. Offensively
Joyner looks better than he ever has. I think Pikiell and his
staff will go through the film, finalize the rotation, and fix
the wholes in their defense. There is talent here and I think
Pikiell will put it together.
I agree that the program has/is underachieving for a major
research university, but that's what makes being Stony Brook fan
so much fun. In my opinion, this school has unlimited potential,
and the administration realizes this and is taking steps
capitalize on it. With the Dubin Center under construction, the
funds freed for the arena renovation, and the recent recruiting
success, the program is only getting better. Also, most major
research universities would never agree to an away game Sacred
Heart, so this loss is kind of unique to Stony Brook in that
regard.

I think any SB fan has every right to be disappointed right now.
Last night's loss should not have happened. That being said,
IMO there is too much talent, both on the bench and court, for
them to be anything less than a contending team in the AE. I
still expect them to be there at the end of the season.
However, they must cut down on the TO's, specifically from
Jackson/Coley. 7 last night between them is wayyyyy too much.
Joyner must also do a better job of passing out of double teams,
as he's turning it over too much. I suspect this is the first
time he's had this much attention from double teams, etc., and
he will get better as the season goes on. Also, they must find
a way to get Bracey untracked. He MUST be a consistent threat
offensively, and to me it's obvious that his defense (or lack
thereof) is contributing to his minutes (9 last night) on the
court. Pikiell demands defense, but in Bracey's defense, it
doesn't appear that anyone is playing it well. Finally,
rebounding must improve or else.....I'd add one more thing:
someone must be able to facilitate other than Brenton. Without
a guard (Martin last year) able to get into the teeth of the
defense and draw help defenders, this team will see nothing but
man-man defenses, as opponents will just stay home on the
shooters (Hayes, Bracey, Rouse) and take their chances with
dribble penetration. Overall, way too early to panic, but
certainly not too early to be concerned. Next Tuesday vs.
Columbia at home is a must win, especially with Northwestern
looming on the horizon...

I was pretty dissapointed/pissed. I slept on it, now I'm ok. Its
part of being a fan. The loss was a bad one.
Just hope that we can beat Columbia at home! that would be good

Looks like Columbia's best player is hurt (1st team All-Ivy last
year), and may be out for the season, so you should be good.

Columbia is a must win with Northwestern next week. I dont want
to go to Chicago 1-3. Hopefully we will see a turn around next
Tuesday night. And I'm always optimistic but last night was a
letdown.
