Well no point playing Fields next week- let him get that
redshirt. Just gotta play out the season for pride.
I hope the coaching staff gets a shakeup- this offense just
isn't getting it done. It's only a matter of time before
Hemphill gets plucked to go to the FBS level or gets a head
coaching job in FCS. Honestly, I don't know what Heilbron is
gonna do. I know Priore signed a contract extension when Donna
Woodruff was AD through 2018 but this team has shown literally
no growth since coming to the CAA. If they lose to Albany, IMHO
the coaching staff needs to be changed.
Again, my primary issue with Priore is that he has not recruited
a single serviceable QB from the high school ranks. Even the
JuCo QBs that initially were serviceable (Coulter/Essington/etc)
are declining in quality. Just having somebody who can
accurately throw a deep ball would be nice just to open up the
run game.
What a disappointing season- knew that it was going to be a bad
year when Ben Holmes couldn't make the academic cut for the
team. Really a shame- there are a lot of good WR on this team
that are just stone-cold wasted.

Well said MD..
This is exactly what i have been complaining about all season.
If coach P does not find a real QB who can throw the ball, this
football team will be toast for at least another 2 more
years..No good QB wants to come to this school because of our
current head coach. And why would they? Coach P has a reputation
in the FCS for his " pound and ground" style of play, well, if
you had a rocket arm and had a few offers from other FCS schools
would you chooses SB? I wouldn't. I dont want to be handing the
ball off 70% of the time!
If Hemphill leaves this program after this season you can say
goodbye to this football program for years to come. Quality
defensive players will leave, some freshman's and sophomores
might transfer and the little fan base they have now will leave
eventually get frustrated and leave too..
I also knew it was going to be a bad season as well when Ben
Holmes didnt come to this school, but like I sad in another post
earlier this season. Coach P threw all his eggs in one basket
relying and counting on one kid to pilot this team is pathetic,
and shows you he could not convince any other good QB to choose
SB for their education and to play football!!

I am very disappointed but not surprised with what has happened
this season they decided back in August they were going to live
or die with Carbone at QB but that is not the only issue we have
a tendency to bring in big name RB's from LI who have character
issues and either they flunk out or get thrown out there are at
least 5 or 6 that I know of. Also Coach tries to continue to not
offer LI kids scholarships but rather preferred walk on status
only which has turned off a number of HS Coaches and Players so
they are going else where instead.
In the next few weeks I will be posting my top LI players list
and at this time none are coming here.

Thanks Campi with posting that local compilation list. I am
looking forward to it.. I find it very alarming you say Coach P
doesn't like to offer our local boys scholarships... I dont
blame the local HS coaches for being teed off with that..... I
will be at SB next Friday and Saturday for Shoreham/Wading river
championship game and the Ward Melville championship game. My
boy will be playing for the WM varsity team next year and we are
close with a lot of the kids moving up to Varsity, and a few who
are currently on Varsity now. My nephew plays for Shoreham
Varsity, he's a Junior, Ryan Ledda. We'll be cheering him on...

Fields didnt get any other offer besides SB, Delaware state and
URI for Div1, from what I can tell... His highlights videos
looks good. He has a strong arm and moves well in the pocket.

Coach p not regarded highly in PA either...pulls scholarships as
a tool to get transfers... not b/c of ability..he would rather
pull a scholarship than develope a player .. causes some hits
and some misses..but players see lack of loyalty when their
friends Are told to leave ...and new transfer isn't any.
Better.... bad for chemistry...why do you think these players
are available to transfer in?? Should cost him his job ...
these shortcuts don't work... develope your players...3 oline
coaches in 3 yrs?

When Heilbron jumped on board a couple of years ago he said
Football was his #1 priority and he will focus his attention on
taking this program to the next level. Well, He will be going on
his 3rd year and this Football program is flat, and coach P
contract is coming due. I want to see what kind of onions he has
with either letting him go or giving coach P a new contract...
Something tells me coach P isn't going anywhere!

Hammer I will be going to all the games at SBU this week what
number is your son and I usually hang out at the main entrance
near the food stand area so look me up
The real tell tale sign for this program will be next year as we
will have around 25 seniors coming back and some really talented
underclassmen but if a QB does not step up it will be a long
year.

It doesn't matter who you bring in if you don't run an effective
offence; we have been progressively getting wort each year & sbu
is rank 119- out of 122 team in our division.

My son just finished is JV season and will be a junior next
season for WM. He played both defensive end and guard on
offense. next year when he's a junior, he will be competing with
the Kutchmas brothers for that position so my thinking is he
won't be a starter... And My nephew, Ryan Ledda, Is a junior
and plays for SWR,#6..He was on News 12 a couple of week ago
talking about the Tom Cutinella memorial he was instrumental in
putting together and fundraising for the family..
I'll try and look you up before the game begins. I'd imagine
SBU will be sold out for the WM game..
