       Maine at Stony Brook

Final home game of the season. Final home game for the senior
class. De Facto playoff elimination game for both teams. Looking
to see the Wolves put 60 minutes of football together. I expect
the defense to do a decent job against a Black Bear offense
which has been better than anticipated.
It comes down to the SBU offense again. Can they do enough to
give the team a chance for success? It will certainly need to
perform better than we have seen so far.

Maine head coach came out and stated they will stack the box &
target Badell; let's see how they staff adjust there game plan.
The run is not going to win this game; but we have a QB w no
       game time experience......
This will very interesting what the game plan is.......
Stay tuned on Saturday; it will be a great discussion during our
       tailgate party....

Game day! Looks like it will be clear, cold and a little windy.
Even tougher for our already struggling passing attack. Any word
on Carbone? I may have missed any announcement. Woukd love to
see a spirited effort by the team today. We need this one to
keep our slim playoff hopes alive. Not sure what kind of crowd
to expect today with the cold and the team's recent struggles.
Might be a light turnout. 4000?

I can't believe I'm saying this (as one of the biggest critics
of Carbone) but I actually hope Carbone is healthy. From the
limited action we've seen from Irwin, it looks like he has no
touch on his passes. His accuracy has not been even close to
good but this is a small sample size.

Wow, this is as bad as it gets. 20-0 at halftime. This is
       getting embarrassing.

the moment i turned the game on, qb got hit, lost the ball and
it went the other way for a td. not even watching.

SBU made a game of it in the 2nd half. Too little. Too late. So
there goes even the most wishful thinking of a playoff spot.
Need to play next week for pride, a winning season and to beat
Albany. The Danes won at New Hampshire today so I expect it will
be tough to go there and win. All these teams seem to have a QB
who can really throw the ball. I know it goes against this
team's DNA but we need to find one too. Not sure why this staff
has fallen short in that area. They must realize it also. I
guess we will not know if Fields is the answer until he gets a
       shot.

Well no point playing Fields next week- let him get that
redshirt. Just gotta play out the season for pride.
I hope the coaching staff gets a shakeup- this offense just
isn't getting it done. It's only a matter of time before
Hemphill gets plucked to go to the FBS level or gets a head
coaching job in FCS. Honestly, I don't know what Heilbron is
gonna do. I know Priore signed a contract extension when Donna
Woodruff was AD through 2018 but this team has shown literally
no growth since coming to the CAA. If they lose to Albany, IMHO
the coaching staff needs to be changed.
Again, my primary issue with Priore is that he has not recruited
a single serviceable QB from the high school ranks. Even the
JuCo QBs that initially were serviceable (Coulter/Essington/etc)
are declining in quality. Just having somebody who can
accurately throw a deep ball would be nice just to open up the
       run game.
What a disappointing season- knew that it was going to be a bad
year when Ben Holmes couldn't make the academic cut for the
team. Really a shame- there are a lot of good WR on this team
       that are just stone-cold wasted.

I was not suggesting Fields play next week. I do not want to
burn the red shirt either. Just hopeful he may be the real thing
and take a run at the job in the spring. We know what else we
have and it does not appear to be far enough along to compete at
       this level.
