They are becoming a juco. Get the players seasoned and off to a
big school. First Rowe now Randell.

Its all about the right fit. Student athletes come and go all
the time. Looking forward to see
how the roster shapes up.
STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (12-4)
The Good: You finished the season ranked and were in contention
for an at-large bid. Challen Rogers was a Third Team
All-American, and complemented Alex Corpolongo on the first
midfield line.
The Bad: You lost to Vermont in the America East Tournament
semifinals, and also lost to Brown and Marist in close games.
Matt Schultz and the British Columbia duo, Rogers and Brody
Eastwood, are departing, along with goalie Zach Oliveri.
The Future: You'll bring in at least 11 guys next season. That's
a good amount. Notables include attackmen Aidan Byrne
(Niskayuna) and Connor Grippe (Ward Melville), along with
midfielder Chris Pickel (Bayport-Blue Point). And with two
western Canadians going, the Seawolves will add two new western
Canadians in midfielders Mackenzie Rope (Pitt Meadows, BC) and
Harrison Matsuoka (Robert Thirsk, AB).
With so many gone to graduation its time for guys to get hungry.
We have been pretty set at starting attack
and middies for the last 3-4 years. There are a lot of spots up
for grabs. Should be interesting.
Maybe that's why Navy is on the horizon for October, try and get
a feel for the roster early.

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Craig Gibson, an assistant on the Stony
Brook men’s lacrosse staff for the past five seasons, has been
promoted to associate head coach, head coach Jim Nagle announced
Thursday.
"Coach Gibson is among the best offensive coordinators in the
country,” lauded Nagle. “Year-in and year-out our offense ranks
in the top 5 in shooting percentage and Man-Up offense. Coach
Gibson does an amazing job teaching the fundamentals and our
program is truly blessed to have this remarkable teacher leading
the way."
Gibson has been at the controls of Stony Brook’s prolific
offense since his arrival in 2012. He guided the Seawolves to
the nation’s fifth-ranked scoring offense in 2016 (13.31 goals
per game) and the second-ranked Man-Up Offense (54.2%), a vast
improvement from a team that ranked 29th in scoring offense
(9.82 goals per game) in his first season and has improved every
year since.
Gibson’s efficient offense revolves around ball movement and
taking high-percentage shots. Stony Brook’s offense ranked third
in the country in assists per game (8.44) and fourth in shot
percentage (35.9%) last season.
Attackmen in particular have thrived under Gibson’s tutelage.
Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) finished second in the nation in
points in 2015 with a school-record 111, graduating as the
school's all-time leader in assists (121) and points (253).
Brody Eastwood (Victoria, British Columbia) led Division I in
shooting percentage in each of his first three seasons and
graduated as the program’s all-time leader in goals (181).
This past season, five of Stony Brook’s six starting offensive
players earned all-conference honors. Seniors Matt Schultz
(Smithtown, N.Y.), Challen Rogers (Coquitlam, British Columbia)
and junior Alex Corpolongo (Purdys, N.Y.) garnered first team
honors, while seniors Chris Hughes (Ocenaside, N.Y.) and
Eastwood landed on the second team.
Prior to Stony Brook, Gibson served five seasons under Nagle at
Colgate.

Congrats to coach Gibson. With the crazy turnover with head
coach's this past year
i'm glad he's staying around. He has his work cut out for him
this year. Many open
spots up for grabs.

Looks like Notre Dame added with Navy for fall scrimmage.
