Obviously an accomplished coach with a set of values that
matches the current program well, both for on-court and
off-court perspectives. Looks like he's gotten a good start in
cementing relationships with his team. Glad to see him get a
little emotional; it speaks to how much the job means to him and
how invested he is.

Nice PC, short and sweet.
I'm incredibly excited to see what staff he builds. He mentioned
Coach Chapman by name so there's a good chance he stays IMHO for
some continuity in the program. I think the other priorities are
get an assistant with a good NE recruiting acumen and somebody
for Strength and Conditioning ASAP. We have another recruiting
spot- thinking out loud but maybe there's some JuCo from Ohio
that can fill our last spot.
Happy to have a coach and to get the 2016 show on the road.

cant wait to see the staff and whatever else he has up his
sleeve. maybe we can get OSU on the sched?!?!?!?!
also if anyone can share what was said (other than the obvious)
at the press conference, that would be much appreciated.

Boals was poised, well spoken, and I like his mannerisms. Took
questions in stride.
He's a defensive specialist, and good defense wins the AEC. He
did mention "loose" and "letting kids make mistakes" on offense.
I think he'll find that mid-major players need some better
organization, but hes been to Robert Morris and Akron - he knows
this.
I'm very excited about this guy personally. AEC doesn't get many
Big-6 pedigree guys. I'd like to see how this goes.

He needs to make sure to get the right assistants. Also not
compromise integrity when recruiting. Short cuts wont cut it..
unless of course you are UNC or some power program and everyone
turns a blind eye.

looks like we have our new director of basketball operations!
Based on the roster online, it seems like Chapman is staying on
at Stony Brook as an assistant coach so just one more coaching
spot left to fill.
