catamounts in the background.
for warney- for dougher- for pikiell- for tre, for stanley and
heilbron, for guys like tommy brenton that helped build the
program, going back to munir and el amin, etc. and lastly, what

schumer, assemblyman murray, and most importantly... the Sonoma
State University Seawolves!!! Perhaps next is the Alaska
Anchorage Seawolves???

Great posts, CotB, love the perspective. That number is
incredible - 77. Of course, it takes a village but Pikiell's
been a big part of it.
I have received confirmation that Seawolf80 was one of the 77.

I remember some of those games in the old arena . We got killed
one night by Colgate and then UMBC came in a few days later
and ran us off the court. The place was dark and empty. Now
tickets are a premium , the home court is a Palace. Great job
this weekend by the whole athletic department for a job well
done. This was an event beyond events with a happy ending
scripted in .

What a win, what an experience I had. Ive followed this team
since we went division I in 1999, while I was a student. Been
waiting for this moment a long time. The current senior team
really deserved this! They all seem like great kids in addition
to being great players. Am I the only one who notices that
McGrew goes all the way to the corner and high fives all of the
little kids every time he subs out?
Awesome story:
I was resigned to not going to the game after it sold out before
even going on sale to the public. The night before the game, I
commented on a Facebook post by the SB Facebook page about the
game, and I basically said go team, wish I could be there, but
selling out so fast is a great thing for the program! (But
didn't ask for tickets.) Moments later, Lucas Woodhouse's Aunt
posts that she has tickets if I want. So I got 2 tickets at
face value, met the Woodhouse family, and sat with the
grandparents during the game. Nicest people! They had tears in
their eyes after the win, and gave my brother and I huge hugs.
It added a personal touch to the experience, which already felt
so personal being an alumn and watching the likes of Jameel,
Carson, and Rayshaun mature over these past few seasons.
The atmosphere rivaled Islanders playoff games for me. Amazing
how far this program has come since 1999! The support from both
the students and community where a beautiful thing to see.

a few more game thoughts now that the dust has settled...
i awoke at the crack of dawn and hailed a cab to penn station...
the cab driver looked like jameel warney. it was a sign.
i got to the bench by 8 something, it wasn't even serving beer
yet. perhaps another sign?
I wore my red "12th man" football shirt under a warmer shirt.
didn't have the red out until 5min into the second half and
decided I needed to show the red. that's when the turnaround
started... not like im taking credit or anything!
Walker is a total spark plug for the team. their bigs got into
much early foul trouble which really did them in. yet every
time SB got some momentum or a big play, there was a media
timeout, an injury, a stoppage of play, it was so frustrating.
on to time outs, i thought VT really mismanaged the game. early
foul trouble for three bigs (two fouled out and the other had 4)
in a game against jameel warney? they also used ALL their TOs
with 5min to go. very odd.
the atmosphere was crazy and deafening. i think i was standing
next to the Woodhouse family, because they were wearing jerseys,
and at the buzzer, one was crying and were embraced. still not
sure who it was!
Mcgrew had a tough first half, every shot was a few inches
short. we need him on point for Thursday. woody couldn't get
open shots and was purely a distributor. we're all assuming a
drop-in on warney so woody's perimeter shooting will be one of
many keys.
lastly, there were awful calls, but equal to both sides. i
thought the refs missed many travels, but i guess butterflies
for both teams even can confound those who dribble the ball
daily.

Thanks for compiling those quotes, Chairman. Did you post this
on the UA forum?. Maybe they need to be reminded how trashy they
sound and why nobody ever cheers them on!. I am the one who
thanked the poster on the Vermont forum who said "we are all
seawolves fans now"!!! Much classier up in Vermont than it is in
Albany!!!
