       #8 UMBC at #1 Stony Brook, 7 p.m. - Island FCU Arena
       #7 Hartford at #2 Albany, 7 p.m. – SEFCU Arena
       #6 Maine at #3 Vermont, 7:30 p.m. – Patrick Gym
       #5 Binghamton at #4 New Hampshire, 7:30 p.m. - Lundholm Gym
It should be noted that the brackets will be reseeded for the
semis, so if Maine or Hartford spring an upset, we'd get them. I
can't see Hartford doing it, but Maine's had its moments.
I know that most of us are probably down on our hopes after a
lack of emphasis to the end of our season, but here's hoping we
can ramp things back up beginning on Wednesday. We handled UMBC
easily in our two contests this year and nothing suggests they
have the chops to come in here and win. But they do have the
league's leading scorer and they do have nothing to lose.
However, an 8 seed has beaten the 1 just twice in the AE
tournament – us taking out BU in 2004, and UNH beating Siena
when we were the NAC in 1988. Long odds for the Retrievers.
The kid Grant has stepped things up a bit in the second half of
the season for UMBC, hitting double figures in five of their
last 10 games. He had 14 against UNH, in which UMBC trailed by
19 in the second half, cut it to three, and ended up losing by
       nine.
As I said before, without Sekunda, we're really not going to get
a jolt off the bench. I think we'll see more of Thrower these
next two weeks. At least he's somebody who's willing to put the
ball on the floor. Alternatively, I wonder if Coach P would ever
start Mitchell/Nyama and allow Walker to come off the bench. If
there's anything he has, it's energy, and five minutes into a
game, it's a lift you can use. All that said, doubtful he's
going to change things up now. They did win the conference for
       pete's sake.
       Let's get it done, fellas.

Despite losing on Saturday we are still a 13 seed in the West
Region playing Baylor in Oklahoma City. So we still have some
pull in the brackets at 13 event though we lost to a good
       Vermont team.

That shocks me.. I would have figured a 14 or 15 after that
       debacle!

Yeah, thinking 14 seed at best too since the board takes recent
trend into account. Could have been a 12 if they kept rolling.

Just have to win out over the next week or so. My gut feel is
we go back to the NIT sorry for being Debbie Downer I don't see
us beating Vermont or UNH then probably Albany .

Agreed. I think we fall to UNH at the semis.. I hope I am dead
wrong with this prediction, but I am a realist and this is what
       I see!!

In my heart of hearts I really believe that Walker is going to
be great in the semis and finals. He is going to make some open
shots - he is going to slash - rebound and defend well. When he
does there is zero chance we don't go dancing!

FYI, as the 1 seed, it's literally impossible for us to face
Vermont in the semifinals. New Hampshire, Binghamton, Maine or
       Hartford.
I think we saw UNH at its very best the last time we played
them. I believe that we'll handle them to set up the
       winner-take-all here next Saturday.

       Vegas Odds:
Stony Brook favored by 22 against UMBC
Albany favored by 19 against Hartford
Vermont favored by 18 against Maine
New Hampshire by 9.5 against Binghamton
       Predictions with the odds:
       I'll take all the underdogs.

I'll agree with you on everyone except Hartford. I'm also a
       terrible bettor.
