As a newer member on this message board I have to wonder why you
guys repeatedly bash your own players? Be thankful for the team
you have. This is a true MID MAJOR program.Top 25 recruits
aren't beating the door down to get into SBU.You guys are having
the best year ever but still thats not enough? Some of you guys
are downright A holes. You know who you are.Usually guys who
drag other people down are the biggest dweebs around. Its almost
comical to hear.I can understand being disappointed in the play
at times but come on.Show some support. And for those of you who
get on here and act like you know anything about Basketball are
usually the ones who couldn't make the middle school team! Lets
keep it positive and MAYBE something good will happen and you
can all complain about that?? I don't get it?

Welcome aboard Southern. As a new member of a Chat Forum, people
are welcome to say whatever the hell they want to say, about
anyone, anybody, about any team, about any coach etc..etc.. This
is the place to do it. You will get to know me real well, real
soon...

Wow, you are new! But you're not alone. Basically, they can say
whatever they want because they live in anonymity. I would love
to see them say the same things in the parking lot, 1 on 1,
nobody else around. But the players are all good kids and taught
by the coaching staff to not let the yahoos get under their
skin.

for what it's worth, I agree with both. everyone's allowed to
express an opinion but I personally cringe at the posts calling
out individuals, whether coaches or players.
with that said, there is a gray area. if someone has a bad
game, how much commentary can one add? no real answer.

COB...I don't get too worked up about the coaches. They're big
boys, getting paid to do a job, and have thick skins. The
players should have thick skins as well...but after a day of
classes, practice, lift, film, study hall...it bugs me knowing
they're sitting in a dorm room reading crap about themselves.

So this team and this coach win 18 in a row, longest winning
streak in the nation. They lose one game and we are ready to get
rid of the coach. I got news for you Hammer, the coach is not
going anywhere. I get a real kick out of grown men who talk
smack about people that they don't know because they lost a
game. If you Hammer stop going to games well so be it, as they
say the show will go on. Again dude I really have to ask you
what it is that you do like about SB. You must be a frontrunner
cause every time a team loses your calling for someone's head. I
really don't know what your looking for. People are allowed to
say what they want but consider the fact that your dogging
coaches and athletes that none of you could ever dream to be. 18
in a row - 1 loss, you do the math it's simple. Again I will say
grown men who get there jollies by smack talking people on a fan
board but yet don't have the stones to tell those people in
person are just plain weak. Get a hobby.

Bad loss, outplayed from the smart. Warney's stats look decent
but that's arguably the worst game I have ever seen him play. He
got outplayed by a couple of marginal big guys that won't sniff
high level professional basketball- hopefully scouts will ignore
that game but it may hurt him. Peters doesnt have a real
creative game but it highlights how Warney struggles against
bigger guys.
Puriefoy had an absolutely abysmal game. Walker continues to
play well at times and horribly at others. McGrew played well
but he got abused by Stire.
Bad loss, move on and beat Maine so we lock up home court. Let's
make sure we avoid another letdown.

There is one word in this entire thread that is questionable.
The rest is fine and people commenting in the heat of the
moment. No one is calling for Coach P to be fired after losing
for the first time in 19 games. Don't let extreme exaggeration
drag down your post. You want to argue the merit of his points
that's fine, but don't pretend to be some moral higher authority
and tell people how they should and shouldn't communicate here.
I also think it takes tremendous balls to tell someone to stop
attending games. What makes you right?

AYes I refered to someone who openly calls for coaches heads and
says he might stop attending. What makes your opinion right ? I
find some commentary to be weak, never said I have higher moral
standing than anybody else. All I'm saying is if you don't like
it don't go watch. That's not balls, its common sense.
