In a half where the offense sputtered, Rayshaun was huge on the
offensive glass. I would love it if he could find his range from
12-15 feet along the baseline. He hit at least one today that
looked like the old Rayshaun. Sturdy played some nice minutes
against some quality bigs also.
Bottom line is not every game is going to be a breeze. Glad we
got the W even if it was a root canal.
The kid Dion sure handled the ball a lot for his lame 4-point,
0-rebound/assist/steal/block stat line. Geesh.
Anyone else cringe when Jameel went down in the paint with
people all around him? I immediately thought ankle. He was fine
though.

call against Albany but didn't today. Not sure if it was the
right call or not based on what I saw on TV but pleased with the
result.

defensively throughout, and that he was more aggressive than
usual going for the block.

situations remain. Turnovers, missed free throws, etc. Can't
have them in crunch time. I don't get Coach putting the ball in
Ahmad's hands there late. Classic Ahmad before that was the
horrible turnover, get back on defense to block/change the
layup, get the defensive rebound. Geesh.

a job by Leissner bouncing back from his horrid performance in
Durham. Also, this game was without Armstrong, who's an all
conference type player. Gulp.

against UNH. We can tie those two up if we can pull it out this
week and clinch the top seed in the process.

I thought the refs got the calls right. Albany fouled Leisner.
Kam and Warney didn't foul Smith.

I was out of town and couldn't make or watch the game. Did I
miss anything? :)
From what I gather a somewhat clunky, ugly win and a gutsy block
to seal it.
On to UA and a chance to clinch. Tough one for sure, and I know,
if SBU pulls that one out, there will be the inevitable jokes
and irony from the UA faithful about SBU winning another
REGULAR-season title.
Keep marching forward. Good luck SBU!

Agree with no foul on Warney. Generally speaking too many fouls
are called in college hoops. I'm glad this game was not decided
by (yawn) free throws.

What a block! So glad the refs didn't pull the whistle. 13-0 for
the first time since Vermont 04-05. You know that year was very
special for them!
Let's make it even more special for us. GO SEAWOLVES!

I agree that it was a clean block by Warney. Nice D by Kam as
well (bonus points for not committing a foul).
While I don't follow the other AE teams like I do SB, as
impressive of a conference run as it has been, I'd only rate SB
as being a moderate favorite (55%-60%?) over Vermont, Albany,
and N.H. respectively once the conference tournament begins.
Also, while it's great that the games have been selling out, I
have not noticed that much of a student presence at the games.

SBU with 13 points in this week's AP poll. Thanks for Fletcher
Mackel of NBC New Orleans for ranking us 16th!

It's great to see the team get some national exposure. They seem
like a good group of young men. Hopefully they're enjoying their
run. But also I have a feeling that they're aware that the
bigger picture is to get to the tournament.

Tough gritty win. New Hampshire is legit- Leisner will be the
best player in the conference next year, he's got a nice post
game and a good outside shot.
New Hampshire is not a team anybody will want to play in the
conference tourney. They play great defense, rebound and shoot
well. Remember they've played their last few games without
Jacoby Armstrong who averages 12 and 5. He's a tough-nosed
player too. Iba Camara is way better than he was last year too.
We got lucky that they were well off their game when we traveled
to Durham.
Walker needs to control himself- too many turnovers. Rebounding
and distributing the ball were fine- he just needs to make some
improvements in ball-handling. Woodhouse and Tre were off of
their games though so its nice to pull out a win in spite of
that fact.
