Game 24: SBU v Hartford

Not to step on the excellent previews from Checkmate, but it's
game day and we've got a game! Snow, wind, blizzard-like, dogs
and cats living together, but SBU announced the game is on as
scheduled tonight.
I don't know much of anything about Hartford other than watching
about half the feed from the first time SBU played them.
Hartford, frankly, looked pretty weak. I know Pancake has been
having a syrupy-good year and can pose trouble, but I don't
think they have much beyond that. Can't imagine a trouble-some
game for SBU.
Hoping for a somewhat weakening of the storm so I can get to the
arena. Imagine there will be a thin crowd, but perhaps the
university can coax snowed-in resident students to trudge across
campus.

Hartford is pretty weak and is no inside threat whatever. Most
of the shots are going to be from outside. Snow is slowing
down in Western Suffolk now hopefully we catch a break with the
weather,

I'll be there- hopefully there's decent turnout. Yes its snowing
but its not that bad relative to what we've had so far.

Thanks for covering me, Fred. We had a busy couple days and I
didn't have the chance to create a thread.
I can't imagine our guys stubbing their toe here. We were 77-43
winners in Hartford and it should be one-sided again here.
Bottom line is Hartford can't defend (.484 FG% against) and
can't rebound (-11.7). True to form, last game had 47-27 us on
the glass, and Hartford shot 29 percent to our 48.
A kid to watch for the Hawks is junior Jalen Ross. His minutes
have shot up since we last played them, and he's responded with
five straight double-figure nights, including 27 in a win over
UMBC, going 13 of 14 at the line.
The theme for Hartford is getting somebody else to produce other
than Pancake Thomas, who averages 18 a night. We limited him to
just 8 in our first meeting.
I'm proud of the way the students have come out in force in the
last few games. Hopefully they help make it a nice atmosphere
once again.
I think there's a nice giveaway for the first 700 fans tonight,
right?

fast start. lots of travel calls in only 10min. nyama gets
early minutes. good intensity out of the gates. walker forced
an ill-advised 1v3 break. jameel warney is THE best player in
SB history.

solid conference win. i havent seen all the games but was this
warney's best work? id say he had between 6-8 dunks, including
an alley-oop.
