Should be very interesting next Friday night. Great time to
play Indiana, much better early in the season. Their best
player (Maurice Cheek) is hurt, and it's doubtful that they will
be as pumped up as Stony Brook.....on a somewhat related topic,
I just saw this on ESPN NY:

This is a very winnable game for SBU. Had to get the Big Ten
Network on cable to watch it-Channel 720 anyone has it.

I see SBU as having a punchers chance. Indiana is still the Big
10, has had a couple of strong recruiting classes, has an
excellent coach who will turn the program around, and a big home
court advantage. The reality is that Indiana and SBU recruit
from two different pools of athletes, and schools at the mid to
bottom of the Big 10 are still highly advantaged over the top of
the AE. I'm no oddsmaker but figure Indiana 12-15 pt favorites.
Having said that, would love to see our guys play a highly
competitive game, possibly steal a win.

Yeah I have my doubts over this game being winnable. Its going
to be closer than Uconn vs SB last year for example, but I am
not sure if we going to win it. Important thing is to compete
and get ready for the more important part of the season.

We went out a beat Penn St a few years ago with a much less
talented team. We also gave Illinois fits in the NIT Opener
losing 78-68. Illinois is far better that Indiana I like our
chances for the upset. No dumb turn overs or careless fouls.

True. We did play hard against Illinois, which was a good team
and we almost pulled it off. A memorable game, one to remember
in the arena. Hopefully we can have a game like that at Stony
Brook in the near future.

I think this game, like all four of our games against high major
schools, is winable. With that said we are definite underdogs
heading into the game. Indiana has had a couple weak years, but
like someone said earlier, they still recruit at a high level
and have a good coach. I'm thinking we'll have one upset in our
games against Indiana, Northeastern, Boston College, and
Rutgers. We should be good enough that we'll get enough bounces
on one of those nights to pull off the upset. At least that's
I'm hoping for heading into the season.

Excellent points sbufan. One upset win would be great...two
would be phenomenal. But the reality is we're looking for wins
against Big 10, Big East and ACC schools. I'm hopeful but it's
asking a lot.
