       > Just six days remain until kickoff on Long Island for the Big
South championship game between Liberty and Stony Brook. As far
as I can tell, this marks the first time that two Big South
teams have been undefeated heading into the final game of the
season. And one thing is for certain this time: There’s no
consolation prize involved. No one gets a share of the title
this year without winning this game, and that’s great for the
       conference.
       >
       > What’s on the line? Obviously, a spot in the FCS playoffs. The
winner gets in, the loser goes home. To reiterate, neither team
will get to seven Division I wins without winning this game, so
neither will be in play for an at-large berth. I know, I know.
It’s a suggestion, not a requirement. Well, I’m suggesting that
no FCS team has ever received an at-large bid without getting to
seven DI wins, and that won’t change this year.

It's mind boggling that in the new FCS Coaches' poll, Liberty is
ranked #15 and SBU is not even receiving votes.

Relax, the poll desn't come out till this afternoon. They
update the records over the weekend so it looks new but it's
not. My guess is we will be 15, 16 and you guys will be around
       20-23.

And the coaches poll is nearly universally panned as a complete
joke. No one pays attention to that one.

I think a lot of those numbers are misleading. For whatever it's
worth, Priore thought that Gardner Webb had the best run defense
that we would see outside of Buffalo and Utep.

Looks like the stage is set. Even the long range weather
outlook seems promising. For what it's worth could be near
60 and clear Saturday afternoon. Perfect football weather!

weather looks good so far. This will be a great game. Hoping
that a lot of LU fans come out and makes this more of a real
championship in which both fan bases are in great numbers.

As of now, I am waiting for the Poll and wondering if there is
any chance that the big south can have two ranked teams. I doubt
it, but it surely would be great for the upcoming game.

TSN Poll has liberty at #16, and Stony Brook receiving 135 votes
but not ranked. My hopes of having two ranked teams for the
       upcoming game wont happen.

What do you mean? The AnyGivenSaturday.com Poll (the only really
decent one in FCS) has SBU at #25. Both teams - at least in my
eyes - are ranked going into Saturday.
