On Saturday July 23 starting at 9:00AM SBU will be hosting their
7on7 competition there will probably be around 18 teams and a
lot of very good Skill Players will be there so if anyone is
interested it's an opportunity to see some great talent there is
no cost to watch these contests
As far as 2017 recruiting is going SBU has 2 more prospect Camps
that will take place on campus later this month
Many 0f the 2016 incoming Freshmen report on July 10

it sounds like SBU is really ramping up the recruiting efforts
on LI. that is good thing for the program.

Guys....
Not only in LI but in the middle Atlantic; they have several
players coming in to the camps with a lot of talent & they have
family members who played in the NFL....
That's all i can say at this time...

Hammer, Holmes did it to himself. That has nothing to do with
anybody but him. He was a top recruit and they signed him. They
can't do his homework for him. What happens now at QB is on the
staff.

So far this Summer SBU has had close to 750 HS players at their
one day camps from all over the country and so far they have
offered about 30 players for the 2017 Class of which 7 players
of the ones they have offered have committed to FBS Schools so
they are trying to bring in top players all the time
Expect 2017 to be the DC last year especially if they have a
great defensive season again though the AD has shown a
willingness to pay assistant coaches more than any of his
predecessors to keep good young talent
I know I'm in the minority but I expect SBU to have a winning
record this year and based what I'm hearing even though it's
only workouts has really improved so again I know others of you
thing differently but I believe he's going to surprise us this
year.

Considering that Ben Holmes is not going to SB, they should have
1 more extra scholarship to offer. Is there a cutoff date to
sign student athlete for this coming season???

It is my understanding you can add a player right up to classes
beginning however they must get through the NCAA Clearing House
without any issues first
Also from what I've been told the 2016 QB will be one of the
QB's that's on the current roster Carbone, Irwin and Fields in
that order
In talking to 3 Catholic HS Coaches last week they said while
Fields is a great athlete he is not ready to be a starting
College QB at this time

Thanks Campi47.. If what you are saying is true with Carbone
being on #1 starter, I am not feeling it again for this team
this season.. Lets face it. We all know the Quarterback position
is the most important position on Offense, and if we dont have
that this year, we're finished. You can only run up the guy so
many times in a game..
