I recently said that SBU's DC was visiting a potential transfer
it was actually their OC and it was just announced that OL Mason
Zimmerman has transferred from the University of Maryland he is
a R/S Freshmen

Former 3* HS prospect, great size at 6'5, 310
Big pickup for us, OL is shaping up nicely. With Haynes and
Zimmerman we have two well built OL coming from Power 5
programs.
Hopefully this gives the offense some more momentum and gets the
running game off to a good start.

He looks like a beast!!! From what i've read, he wasn't going be
a starter because of a 4 star recruit, on the line and 4other
top O lineman.. Great grab coach P!!!!!!!!!!!

I like it when SB is able to pull some of these 3-star kids away
from FBS programs. these kids commit to an FBS program, then
find out they will never see the field during their time at the
school. SB sweeps in and grabs them up. lets get some more of
that. Grrrrrreat for us

anything from his three years in the CAA, when commenting about
the addition of adding OL Zimmerman to the roster. P continues
to be one-dimensional, with an unhealthy fondness for the
running game. Dynamic QB play, a strong D, and creative play
calling will win championships.
"The addition of Mason solidifies our offensive line for the
2016 season," Priore said. "He will add a physical presence to
our group and allow us to get back to the dominant running game
that is needed to compete for championships."

This team & coachin staff will half to have a balance attack if
they whish to compete in the CAA; you can always stack the line
to stop the running game.
We have a lot of weapons i nthe running & passing game; its time
to use them.

I thought the same thing as you, but didn't want to say too much
about it.. If he continues with this strategy of running up the
gut for min yards this season. I'd venture to say this would be
his last season as SB head coach. I'm not so sure Heilbron would
accept another losing season..

Some other boards see us at 4-7 or 5-6 overall . Not a very big
vote of confidence. Still no QB to speak of and its June. Even
if we get a real good one it is tough to learn a system in less
than 3 months.

Two years ago Huntington HS had a QB Ben Kocis who committed to
play Lacrosse in College as a junior to Binghamton rather then
pursue any football offers well he realized finally that he made
a mistake and has left Binghamton and might show up at SBU if
that happens he would come in with the strongest and most
accurate arm we would have. He has a QB coach working with him
every day so he is ready the only issue is would he have to sit
out a year since he is coming from a similar program to SBU
however they don't have a football team so that is an NCAA
decision.
SBU starts their one day prospect camps this Wednesday and there
are a total of 5 dates and I was told their top offensive guy
that they are looking for is a WR so Coach P is showing his
willingness to change up things. These camps are for players
2017 - 2020 graduates.
