Geez, a RB doesn't seem like the highest priority right now, I
agree. But, this would have been a hard opportunity to pass up.
I think Coach P. should strongly consider a two RB offense next
season. What do you guys think? Just imagine offensive
rotations of Bedell-Gowins and White-Liotine--WOW!!

SBUGOLD: I guess like we learned this season, you can never
have enough quality running backs when the injury bug strikes.
thankfully our walk-on Liotine was still healthy for the last
three games of the season. that was a huge reason we won the
last three games.

I wounder if Liotine is going to get scholorship.......SBU is
very limited on offering them next year i believe they only have
12 to offer. We need to focus on the enclosed weekness of this
team.
DL, OL, WR.... we lose 2 DE next year & we need at least 2 OL
that can transfer in w experienace at Center & RT.
WR we need at least 1 more oggd athletic reciever on this team;
we should have 2 coming back next year that we be an imact on
the WR position.
The are switch Connor D back to TE that should help in the short
game with Cal & him...match up nightmare 6ft8 that can catch and
run on the short routes & blocking on the outside.
This team has to get stronger w depth on bothe side of the line
next year to be competitive......
Hsving hired an OL coach is a great move in the right direction.

The new OL Coach is currently visiting every OL that SBU has on
it's board frying to determine which ones should be offered also
we have several OL/DL that are freshmen, redshirt freshmen,
sophomores and juniors who have played either very little or not
at all so decisions have to be made if these guys can play and
in what role.
As far as WR I believe they will go all out to bring someone in
and Tim Keith who was a Grad Student from Western Michigan tore
his ACL last year will be given every chance to have a big role
next year.
As far as the 6 RB's go I think that Fredericks might not be in
the picture, Liburd might become the return man and some SB
work, Liotine probably will get some money and be the 3rd down
back, White in addition to being a very good running back in HS
was also a very good OLB so don't rule a possible position
switch not right away but down the road, Gowins also has very
good hands and could also be used as a SB and Bedell should be
the number one back. This is all purely speculation on my part
but it could happen.

The long island and NY kids receive a lot of grant in aid money
cause they are NY residents. That's how they save on
scholarships. When they were good they had Jackolski, Maysonett
combo. They were a nightmare to matchup with. Keeping Bedell and
Gowins on at the same time makes the defense cover one. Maybe
then they could use the RB in the passing game. You could now
use Bedell in space like they did with Jackolski. Liotine is
legit. White was recruited by D1 schools as a safety, might be a
good move, kid is a stud. You could always redshirt Liburd. I'd
like to see Bedell and Gowins return kicks. When we had Eddie
Gowins, Brock, and Miguel the plan was to use all 3, but Gowins
got hurt. Very nice potential here if used right.

I heard a rumor that SBU recieved to commits for the 2016 season
today; looking forward to hearing who they are.

I was at the SBU Football Banquet today and there were 3 players
who committed for the 2016 season and they were; T.J. Morrison
Archbishop Stepinac (NY) DB 5'11 175, Elijah Fineran Bethlehem
Catholic (PA) LB 6'4 202 and Samuel Kamara Carteret (NJ) DE 6'2
252
In addition Ben Holmes and Jordan Gowins will be in school for
the Spring Semester and be available for Spring Practice
A side note there will be 5 Captains for next season; Stacey
Bedel, Troy Beverette, David Thompson, Tim Keith and Jaheem
Woods

How is Tim Keith picked as captain when he never played a down
for SBU....
