I know this is the football recruiting thread but I thought I'd
pass on some gossip I heard recently. as you know the SB pro
day is coming up soon. apparently Coach P told one of his 2015
seniors that he could NOT participate in the SB pro day because
he thought this senior would make Coach P and the program look
bad. so this kid is now trying to get a pro day elsewhere. oh,
and by the way, this kid was a four year player at SBU. what
kind of treatment is that by your HC? sucks in my book.

I am shocked to hear this; if this young man gave 4 good years
years to this program then the staff should support him in this
endeavor.

When Colleges have their Pro Day the NFL Scouts tell the
Colleges what players they want to see if a player is not on the
list they can't participate so Coach P has no say in this.
That's why we should get all the facts before we put it out
there. in fact if there is a player who didn't attend SBU but
lives in the area the Scouts will have him attend their Pro Day

Thanks for the info Campi, I knew you would have proper insight
on that. There are a lot of factors that go into things like
this. The same as when the team has to pull a scholarship. Let's
not rush to judgment before we get the facts.

all I can say is that I heard this info directly from a player
that finished up this past season, and he has first hand
knowledge from talking with a fellow player (a 4 year
scholarship athlete on the SBU team) that got the short end of
the stick from Coach P.

BF , I don't doubt that you talked to the player and he is
disgruntled. Like Camp I said, if the NFL doesn't ask for the
player then he can't attend. That really has nothing to do with
the coach.
