sat next to the father of this kid at the Albany game, Auggie
Contressa from Commack. SB is recruiting him hard. sounds like
he could be a DB or an RB. but is young 17, and would be a
       redshirt for the first year.

I was with his coach at one of the HS games this weekend at SBU
and he told me the same thing he also said that he is a good
student and a great person and one of the hardest working kids
       he's ever been around.

I spoke to several of not only SBU Coaches but also Post and
Nassau and they all told me the same thing that this is not a
great year for Long Island HS players and that next years is a
lot better. The SBU coaches are all going on the road this week
trying to identify the top targets that they want to bring in
and then send out the position coach to try and convince those
       players to come here.
The top player coming off of Long Island this year is Elijah
Riley from Newfield who currently has 4 offers Army, New
Hampshire, Maine and Lehigh. I believe that SBU will offer him
       shortly.
Newsday is reporting that Jordan Gowins has left Boston College
after only 1 year and is transferring to another school.

We are going to bring Long Island Players in for the 2016 class
however most of the recruits from LI will be preferred walk-ons
       and not scholarship

If it is Gowins that's good it just fills our stable of
running backs a little more. Per Newsday he had 43 yards on 15
carries as a freshman , not big numbers. We shall see.
