Hey Everyone!
I have an idea. Why don't we put ourselves on a fake starvation
diet and have the entire Football team whine, complain, cry and
about all our woes?? You know why we would NOT do this, like
those clowns at Miserable U?. Because I think most of our young
men even during a down year for us, still have pride! Just think
we could be blogging about these types of young men (future
leaders) and I'll take ours!

One more point in regard to the Coaches the cost of living as we
all know is very expensive to live on LI so unless an Assistant
Coaches wife is working it's hard to attract some better
candidates unless their using this as a stepping stone for the
next job or their single that is why they're constantly hire
young guys without a lot of experience.
Maybe the new AD will increase the Coaching budget so the pool
of Coaches could then be greater then it is now

Our new AD have better do something otherwise SBF will regress
back to div3 days as far as attendance is concerned. I do think
coach P will be around one more year but will get the boot after
next season dismal performance. Just saying, sorry!!!

I guess I'm a bit dense, but it took me a few readings of
NYSTATE Of Mind's post to understand what he was talking about.
very poor taste. its well documented that the racial abuse and
discrimination had gone on for many years at Missouri. it
finally took the football team to stand up and take a stand in
order for the university system to change. my hat's off to
those brave kids for taking a stand, and calling out the
university administration for their lack of action.
excellent comments in the Newsday article on the
SBU-Howard game by a Seawolf fan
Charlie Accetta
Unfortunately for the seniors, this team is playing out the
string of their final college season. Some of them might be
back, having sustained season-ending injuries early enough to
retain another year of eligibility. Hard to say whether that’s a
good thing or not. I’ve taken turns killing the university
president, the AD and the coach. This week my beef is with the
local community.
These kids play sports at a national level while attending
classes and graduating at extremely high percentages relative to
other colleges. It’s a shame that when 250,000 people live
within a ten mile radius of the campus the stadium doesn’t reach
more than three-quarters of capacity for most home football
games. Seawolves football is a great value when you compare it
to sitting in a sports bar watching SEC teams on a television
and it’s an even greater experience. The team has had a rough go
of it since its promotion into the CAA, but the event management
surrounding the game is first class. The marching band has
evolved over the past five years into the region’s best. Some
Big Ten schools would be envious.
It’s a sad fact that most Suffolk County residents have never
visited the campus, have never seen a show at the Staller
Center, never been to a home basketball game (Columbia and
Princeton are coming this season, but no, you can’t be
bothered). Most people have been to the University hospital, but
they won’t dare cross over to the other side of Nicolls Road. I
suppose the campus can seem intimidating to someone who’s never
been here. It’s huge, but it isn’t as if you’ll get so lost you
won’t ever find your way out.
At this moment in time, the University … YOUR University … has
made a major commitment to elevate its athletic department
nationally in a way that doesn’t rely on tax dollars from
Albany, but that will only work if the most populous, most
obvious segment of the customer base takes the trouble to
support the effort. Where’s the community pride? Is the
anti-education sentiment becoming so ingrained in most of you
that you want to take it out on football? What ARE you people?
French?
see the thread entitled Making SB Better
it's all there. the campus doesnt have the draw that others do.
the university always has good intentions but unfortunately,
always seems to take the wrong turn.
the fixes arent easy. and they are not cheap. but what we have
going for us is two things- the infrastructure and the makings
of a bigtime campus atmosphere, and two, the free advice-
meaning, all the answers are right there in that thread. it's
just a matter of taking the advice and following it.
id love to hear thoughts.

Well, not wanting to call you dense, but with respect to the
FACTS that in light of what REALLY happened at UM.
The football team was in fact duped by the supposed issues were
brought up by the UNDERGADUATE UM student who is still there
almost 8 years later (yes and is STILL an undergraduate)- who
started his rants about Health care costs- and then we find out
his Father makes nearly $7 million dollars a year?
What I do find in poor taste (let's see if you agree with this
one) was the Rams players last year putting out the Hands UP
don't shoot- and then found out that after the facts came out-
they were wrong! To me that was Poor taste in the light of the
facts coming out.
To your comments about there being "many years of racial abuse
and discrimination" I could not find any when I looked, but am
guessing you might be able to shed some light on them.
Because as anyone who has seen this current administration under
Eric Holder, its clear that at the drop of a hat- the Justice
admin swarms in and takes over. So are there current ones
underway?
There are facts surrounding the current UM Student President who
stated the KKK was on campus and was later found out to have
lied about it, I am just glad the football team did not take
this bait (of maybe they did). Anything happen to him for him
lying about this?
My point was and still IS- is that college football (or any
other sport) at SBU or UM should not be such a knee jerk
reaction (remember The Duke case where the LAX coach and players
were found to be innocent?).
If we want to have our way as they did at UM, then every blogger
here no matter in what sport they support at SBU should revert
to name calling and DEMANDING the resignation of whomever they
don't like (or more to the point as to what they want if they
whine loud enough). For those of us who don't like Coach P maybe
we should find an 8 year undergraduates at SBU whose Dad is
making 7 million a year and demanding health care or to change
the Wang Center name because his name is too racist!
