Not a good game for the program; we were down 2 starters on D &
Stacy out with shoulder issue. I also think th game plan was not
effective for this game; an adjustmentvnot many,
We give give up the short ball & slants all day & they ran all
over us on the field.
Delaware is a very well coach & the players have good
technique....

I didn't get to watch or listen to the game but I think it was a
blessing in disguise.. Obviously, WM did their homework on us
but we didn't do our homework on them, Ugly game!!!Next week
against JM, who beat up FBS SMU, won't be pretty if we go in
there totally unprepared..

One of my issues on what i saw was 2nd half
adjustments.....Didn't happen.
The style of D we play is not press & W&M used that against us
well. 2nd issue was D; why didn't we use more blitz sceams to
clog hole up the middle & out side; if you look at the film W&M
blitz all day & the LB focus on the run & shut down outside in
inside running game.
W&M was Very well coach against SBU & the players were quick &
strong at the point of attack; i did not see that on either side
of the ball for SBU. We were waiting for the play to come to us;
I thought the LB were total lost in this game.
JMU QB is going to eat our lunch if they cant play better
against a option O....
I will be there chearing SBU on next Saturday.....

Does anyone have a clue about Bedell's injury? To me it looked
like it could be either a collar bone, should or forearm issue.
I certainly hope not!!

horrible coaching of the offense this weekend. I will get into
my specific issues later, but suffice to say, if this is the
best we can hope for, then we are looking at several more losses
in the CAA conf play this season. our play selection was so
elementary. no adjustments at half time. we were getting
worked by their D line and there were absolutely no efforts made
by the play calling to mix things up. Now Bedell has an injured
shoulder.

Same old story as last year and the year before that. When push
comes to shove this team gets shoved. This team is so
predictable it's not even funny anymore. Every team in the CAA
knows what we are going to do.. The test will be after JM when
we play Towson and the bottom half of the CAA conference. JM, I
expect us to get blown out but if we can win out the remaining
schedule, then all is not lost and we most likely will make the
playoffs.. If we lose against Towson, Elon, Howard, RI than Mr.
Heilbron has some decisions to make at the end of the season!!!!

here's my beef with this coaching staff and why I think we are
doomed to mediocrity. these guys are acting like they are still
coaching in the Big South (or worse D3 level), and have not made
the adjustment in their coaching strategies to address the
better competition we now see in the CAA. the WM game was a
prime example of this ineptitude. we have awesome talent this
year, and the offensive talent is being pissed away with
substandard coaching and playcalling.
QB situation: Is Bednarski your starter?? basic question. if
so, then you should not be platooning him with Carbone, pure and
simple. this the most bone-headed thing I have seen in
football. No other team actually runs two QBs in a 50/50 split
of time on the field in a game. This arrangement is messing
with the minds of the QBs and the rest of the team. neither QBs
can develop a sense of rhythm in play making. Bednarski's
shoulder looks OK to me, he can drop the bombs when he needs to.
So what the heck is going on? it is ridiculous for the coaches
to try and defend why they are doing this. if they wanted to
sort out a competition at this position, they should have done
it over the summer, or at least in the first game. but not now
in conference play. this nonsense has to stop.
Play calling: it sucks. I understand that the team literally
practices dozens of offensive plays each week. then in the
game, the O Coordinator uses the same 10-12 plays over and over
again, regardless of the situation. the O coordinator, I assume
it Behrman, can not seem to adjust his play calling to suit
actual conditions on the field. last week, both QBs were under
continual heavy pressure in the pocket. O coordinator did not
call any roll outs or bootlegs to protect the QBs or to give
them more time. the QBs were locked in the pocket taking a
beating. this is just plain stupid. it looked like WM was
jumping our cadence and getting monster pushes on our O line.
Answer, give the QBs the flexibility to mix up the snap count.
I understand the snap counts are sent in from the sidelines.
does that make any sense. I could go on and on about how lame
our play calling is. One more example: we have only two deep
pass routes, one a fade to the sideline and the other a streak
down the center of the field. I'm sorry, but you got to have
more than this. these are the two same routes that Stony Brook
ran back in the Big South days.
QBs involved with game on sidelines: watch the QBs when the D
is on the field. they just sit at the end of the bench
twiddling their thumbs. no coaches talk to them about what's
coming up on the next series. Why not loop the QBs in with the
O Coordinator with headsets, so they could all communicate about
what the QBs and the O coordinator are seeing on the field, and
this would help to make adjustments in the play calling and
execution. the QBs are instead treated like robots and just
told to go out and make plays. This is never ever going to work
in a legit league like the CAA. maybe it worked when SB was in
D3 or in the Big South, but its just another example of how our
coaches are completely out coached on the field.
Note to Shawn Heilbron: if we crater this season and end up the
year at 4-4 in conference, fire the entire coaching staff and
start over. I don't care how much you have to pay Coach P to
buy out his contract. This cant go on....

BFF. You are finally voicing your concerns and being blunt, as
you should, about our coaching staff. I've been saying what you
just wrote for 3 years now and got some slack on this board for
it...Coach P and his coaching staff use the same JV plays the
high schools use.. And this switching back and forth from
Carbone to Bednarski must stop.. It really paints a picture to
opposing teams we have a Quarterback problem and cant decide
what to do so lets just blitch the Q!!
As far as your note to Shawn Heilbron, I'll sign it too!!!

I don't disagree. Priore needs to start winning. If he doesn't,
Heilbron should bring in his own guy (and probably won't
hesitate to do so).
This coaching staff has produced legitimate top 20 teams though.
In 2012 we beat the CAA champ (albeit through a technicality) in
the first round of the FCS playoffs. In 2011 we took the
national runner up down to the wire on the road in the second
round. Not sure why I'm brining it up. I guess I'm just hoping
we can bounce back from this game
