Any of you folks gonna make the game? Glad to offer guidance on
any questions. Looks like a hell of a match up.

W&M has a good OL & our D will habe to step up & take control of
this game early; this team likes to pass the ball.
Hey in on there 1# reciever; shyt down the run.
W&M 1d line is quick & they only have 1 player over 300#
starting; our oL will have to use good technique & speed during
this game. If needed time to open up the play book in this game
if they target the run. They halft to start to rotate players
more on the OL; they rotate on DL to keep the player fresh &
these OL will not have any legs in the 4th quarter in a close
game if they don't rotate players.
I be there right behind the bench; looking forward to this game.

Please stop with this OL rotation notion. This is one unit in
Football were a rotation does not happen. Substitutions happen
only for injuries, and blow out wins. As you may know we do not
have much depth if any with the OL. Please stop asking about an
OL ROTATION!
Also I'm pretty sure if the trust was there for the guys that
are the back ups, they would've played when we were up 3 scores
on both central and unh. This isn't high school where u just
through anyone in the game just because.

Fann33 your wrong .....check out any football team at the next
level & in college they do rotate the line; when you are up by
over 2-3 toucdown with 7-8 min in a game you shoud be subing out
your OL line.
Then to go to a hurry up offence when you have the lead by 22
points w 7 min left & your line has no legs; your looking for
injuries & then you are screwed w your 2nd string having no game
time experience...(Not Good). Why would you even want to chance
a possible inury when you have the game in hand.
You will have injuries during the season; your 2nd string has to
have game time reps.
I am blessed to be around other coaches & players who have
played the game in the NCAA & NFL & I had the pleasure to coach
players; I stand by my statement.

See the Steeler and Cardinals last weekend. Both teams had their
starting OL play every offensive snap in blowouts.
The offensive line's workload isn't something I'm concerned
about at all. The OL has played well, but have also committed a
bunch of penalties. Get the reps and make the mistakes in a
blowout rather than an important late season game. At least
that's how i feel.

DDM..
I would say I am 99% correct in my statement. I have played
and coach on numerous levels of football. I am not going to
argue this point any farther, Please let me know what games you
will be watching this weekend, and I will also watch and you can
tell me how many OL rotations you are seeing ( without injury).

I will ...go back and look at the Toledo game they rotated there
OL; they had three very good back up tackles all over 300#. They
didn't get alot of plays but they did sub out.
Look forward to talking with you more.

I think ddmd's main concern is that SB has very little depth on
the OL (still not sure how P let that happen). that is why
Connor Davis was moved from TE to RT. we basically have NO back
up depth for OL, other than a pure freshman or two on the
roster. Coach P is short sighted to not bring in a couple of
these younger kids to play in blow out wins like the last two
weeks. for our RT Connor Davis to get injured in the 4th qtr of
a blow out win would be a real shame, and completely
unnecessary. the same goes for using Bedell in blow out wins.
he should have been on the bench in the fourth qtr, not out on
the field padding stats. What happened to our frosh RB White
last week? he fumbled on his first carry, then did not see the
field again until late in the fourth qtr.

Yes, the OL depth is a concern. Absolutely. But, putting an
undersized, inexperienced, outmatched and probably unprepared
true freshman on the field to spell the starters is not going to
accomplish anything other than burn the kid's redshirt.
Unfortunately, he depth problem is what it is at this point.
Maybe, just maybe, the coaching staff haw considered all of
this, weighed the pros and cons, and decided that it isn't worth
burning the redshirt on a promising true freshman who probably
isn't ready to go now unless we are absolutely forced to do so
by injury. If he isn't big enough or strong enough or skilled
enough now (not many true freshmen are), then even getting him
so reps at this point really isn't going to have him "ready to
go" in the event of injury to a starter in the next few weeks.
That, to me, would be sound reasoning, even though we are right
now an injury away from a big problem.
Further, if there are some non-redshirting-freshmen backup OL
ready to go I suspect we would have seen them by now, and we
probably will see them in the back half of the season when we
have the likes of Elon, URI and Howard on the schedule.
We will all keep our fingers crossed that the starters avoid
injury and continue to give us the outstanding effort and
production they have given us so far (perhaps with a few less
penalties). It isn't a great plan but it appears that its the
best we can do for now.
So, let's focus on the positives of the great season that is
shaping up before us and not dwell on things that perhaps can't
be controlled/changed at this point. Go Seawolves!

Amen!
I am so bullish on this team right now. I think we're going to
really surprise people the next two weekends.
Go Seawolves!
