       2011: Game 9 - SBU @ Charleston Southern 11/5

This is the thread for the upcoming Charleston Southern game.
Now that we have one of the big games out of the way I wonder
was the plan for the Stony Brook team from now on to Liberty
       game.

I think they take it one game at a time and try to not get ahead
of themselves. I also think that Priore and his staff keep tabs
on Liberty and other key conference opponents throughout the
season. The staff is probably already somewhat familiar with
what Liberty brings to the table. I guess what I'm saying is
they coach the team one game at a time, but they spend or have
already spent some time on the side scouting Liberty.
I don't know much about Charleston Southern. They have one
really solid defensive back, I think a corner.
I'm hoping to see Essington continue his solid play and
hopefully he continue to gain confidence. He has been such a
tremendous surprise. If he can continue his solid play, Stony
Brook can win out and imho make a decent run in the playoffs. I
definitely think this team has top 20 potential, especially if
the quarterback play is as improved as it appears to be.

IMO, I think Essington has been the best thing that happened to
the Stony Brook team. I hope that doesn't sound rough, the kid
has proved he can pass the ball well. Our passing game has
improved a lot since he got into the starting role and this will
help us alot as we continue through the season.
Now we have a great running game and a good passing game. We no
longer rely in the running as we did in the first few games.

Liberty fan here, you guys should handle CSU. They have a solid
corner, yes, but they are a mess everywhere else.

Chuck South is perennially awful, and they've opened up 0-3 in
conference (again). I'm not really all that concerned about
this game. As long as we can stay healthy for the liberty game.
we still have 2 more conference games, they only have one, and
a bye the week before they play us. (big south conspiracy?)

the bye week before the SB-LU game is surely an advantage. But
teams schedule bye weeks freely don't they? SB should've done
the same in anticipation of the big game

to my surprise: Last time we went down to Charleston we lost
30-27 in OT. We beat them last year 41-21 but in 2008 we bearly
       won 20-19.
This team is obviously much worst this year, they are win
       less...

When you guys lost @ CSU 2 years ago, that was the week prior to
playing LU. I remember hearing something about your coaching
staff treating the week leading up to the CSU game as a bye week
and you were preparing completely for LU. Worked out for you as
you beat LU and earned a share of the title.

Maysonet was named the Big South Offensive player of the week
after the huge effort he put against Coastal Carolina

I been looking up at stats since yesterday and I noticed that SB
has legitimate chances of beating Liberty once again. It seems
like right now Stony Brook is playing better than Liberty.
Looking at the way Presbyterian played against LU it shows that
LU is not as strong as I previously though
       -----------------------
Jcmanson, I dont think this time we going to have to sacrifice
any games to prepare against Liberty. We are much improved over
that SB two years ago. We'll have to wait and see!
